RESUMO
Este trabalho apresenta como tema o estudo no desempenho da avaliação e compreensão da
leitura. Foi averiguado o desempenho dos alunos e as diferenças encontradas nas variáveis sexo,
tipo de escola e ano escolar, usando como recurso um texto elaborado com técnica de cloze.
Quanto à coleta de dados foi realizada por meio do texto “A princesa e o fantasma”, com 78
alunos matriculados do terceiro ao quinto ano do Ensino Fundamental de escola pública e escola
particular do estado de Minas Gerais. Os alunos avaliados tinham idades variando entre 8 e 11
anos de ambos os sexos, sendo 37 alunos da escola particular e 41 alunos da escola pública. O
gênero masculino foi representado por 26 alunos e o gênero feminino representado por 52
alunos. Quanto à série, participaram 31 alunos do 3°ano, 22 alunos do 4°ano e 25 alunos do 5°
ano.

ABSTRACT:
This paper presents the theme in the study of performance evaluation and reading
comprehension. Was examined student performance and differences in gender, type of
school and school year, using as a text feature designed to cloze technique. Regarding
data collection was performed by the text "The Princess and the ghost", with 78 students
enrolled in the third to fifth year of elementary school to public school and private
school in the state of Minas Gerais. The students were aged between 8 and 11 years of
both sexes, with 37 students from private schools and 41 public school students. Male
gender was represented by 26 students and the female represented by 52 students. As
for the series, 31 students participated in the 3rd year 22 4th year students and 25
students from the 5th grade.
