1. No dia a dia é comum usarmos o verbo TER
em vez de HAVER ou EXISTIR. Em inglês o
verbo TER tem o sentido de posse.
EX: TINHA um livro sobre a mesa. (EXISTÊNCIA)
HÁ, EXISTE um livro sobre a mesa. (EXISTÊNCIA)
There was a book on the table.(EXISTÊNCIA)
EX: Eu TINHA um livro. (POSSE)
I HAD a book. (POSSE)

VÁRIAS pessoas, objetos, animais ou lugares.

Para negar a existência de pessoas, animais,
objetos lugares e etc... acrescentamos not.
Veja:
There was not - não existia
There were not - não existiam

Não existia uma borracha em seu estojo.
There were not pencils in your pencilcase.
Não existiam lápis em seu estojo.

Observe o exemplo:
There wasn´t trash on the ground.
Não existia lixo no chão.
Neste caso, usamos a forma negativa contraída:
There was not = there wasn´t
There were not = there weren´t

É bastante comum utilizar o verbo there to be:
• para descrições de ambientes;
• para localizar pontos de referência.
Sugestão 3: (referente ao slide 12)
observar imagem, investigar elementos, perguntar aos
alunos o que existe ou não na próxima imagem.
