O "Past Continuous Tense" descreve uma ação que estava
acontecendo em determinado tempo do passado.
FORMAÇÃO
[Passado do verbo "to be" + VP + ing]
EXEMPLOS:

Usa-se o Past Continuous Tense junto com o Simple Past
quando 2 ações acontecem no passado e uma interrompe a outra.
A ação que estava acontecendo é representada pelo Past
Continuous e a ação que interrompe, pelo Simple Past.
EXEMPLOS:
I was trying to make that phone call when he interrupted me.
She was leaving when I called her.
PAST CONTINUOUS X PAST CONTINUOUS
Usa-se o Past Continuous Tense junto com outro Past Continuous
quando 2 ações estavam acontecendo no passado simultaneamente .

She was leaving the place and I was following her.
