Futurism(Taschen Basic Genre)

Como obra geral de divulgação, dificilmente poderá haver melhor (e já nem falo do preço acessível e do bom
papel): uma introdução competentíssima sobre o contexto histórico-cultural, uma cronologia selectiva, análise de
cada obra segundo o mesmo critério, com frequentes confrontos com outros espécimes de correntes
contemporâneas, recurso a documentação fotográfica. O único senão, no melhor pano, para a ausência de uma
linha sequer sobre a autora.
Independentemente das ideias detestáveis de Marinetti (1876-1944), o Futurismo foi um dos mais influentes
movimentos de vanguarda artística de há cem anos. O autor do primeiro Manifesto (1909) foi de tal maneira
impetuoso e excessivo -- aqui, no melhor sentido --, que dificilmente poderia o Futurismo permanecer para além
dele. Aliás, o Futurismo é filho da ciência e da técnica, do deslumbramento dos homens com a revolução que se
estava a processar diante dos seus olhos e durante as suas existências, do automóvel ao aeroplano, das máquinas
de guerra às criaturas mecânicas proto-robóticas. Dinamismo é uma das palavras-chave- e alguns dos membros
do grupo foram artistas totais: da literatura às artes plásticas, do cinema à fotografia, da música à arquitectura e
ao design. Com Marinetti surgem outros autores marcantes, entre outros, Giacomo Balla, Carlo Carrà, Luigi
Russolo e, especialmente, a meu ver, Umberto Boccioni.|A new exhibition is on at the AGNSW!!!

Paths to Abstraction.
I started in on it yesterday after attending my 9th Learning Curve Lecture on Cinema's History of the 20th Century.
By the back door!!
That is to say, I was able to enter without a ticket or having seen any of the exhibits by going into the shop so
temptingly placed as you exit the show.
And bought two books: Futurism, and Expressionism.
And served by a young woman who was a terrific piece of art herself,
Short hair, very black, parted on the side exactly in the male style, but cropped incredibly short on one side of the
part, lips in the reddist of reds and everything else about her falling into place to make ...a complete work of Art!!!!
Hope the book is as good!!!!|A good primer on the movement and the people who made it happen. Lots of timelines, illustrations, and pictures of the artists.
