It is our pleasure to receive you in the recently acclaimed
world heritage city of Coimbra, the oldest university of
Portugal.
The vivid academic environment of the city and the well
known medical facilities are excellent attributes to deserve
your visit not only for the scientific purpose of the MRI
Erasmus Course but also to get along its eight centuries of
culture.
Located in the center of Portugal, 100km away from Porto
and 200km from Lisbon, Coimbra is easily reached by
highway or good quality timely trains. We have look in
the scientific program to make it as attractive and up-to-date
as possible in order to guarantee a high quality educational
event with a dedicated case-based tutorial teaching. We

How to reach Coimbra
Coimbra is easily reachable by train from the major 2 international airports in Lisbon (200km) or Porto
(100km). Trains leave on time and very regularly every 30-45 min ultil 10 pm (see pdf with the complete
timetable).
From Lisbon the train station to go is Lisboa-Oriente following direction Coimbra-B. The trains to catch are
also in the pdf (called AP(alfapendular) or IC (intercidades). The trip is around 2.30min and trains are quite
confortable.
From Porto trains are the same (AP or IC) leave from station Porto-Campanha to Coimbra B (1 hour travel).
Please note that in Porto the airport has a direct connection to the train station (by city train) and in Lisbon
there is also a metro station (just 1 station) that leaves you directly from the airport to Gare Oriente.
