Eudoro Grade has been giving classes in the Regional Conservatory in Faro since 1985 and in the Music Academy in Lagos since 1988. He has also collaborated with the Music Academies in Beja and Portalegre. He has also administered courses for perfecting technique and guitar playing in the Music School of Santarém and in the Nuno Álvares Cabral School at Belmonte. Eudoro Grade has participated in International Music courses in Estoril in 1978 (guitar), under the direction of Professor Raul Sanchez in 1980 (percussion and rhythm) with Juan Ropero in 1988 and 1990 (guitar) and with Alberto Ponce. At the Luthier Centre of Music in Barcelona in 1991 and 1992 he participated in guitar courses with Professors David Russel and José Tomás. He attended a course of the analysis and technicalities of composition at the National Conservatory in Lisbon in 1992 under the direction of Professor Cândido Lima. In 1994, 2002, 2003 and 2005 he attended courses of composition, improvisation and improvement at the International Festival of Córdoba which was led by Leo Brouwer, Larry Coryell, Ralph Towner, Pepe Romero and Pat Metheny. As a performer, Eudoro Grade has given more than 200 concerts, as solo player, in music groups and in orchestras. He played in the Primeiros Encontros de Guitarra in Lisbon at Galveias Palace in 1993. He has represented the Algarve on various occasions, for example at the Algarve Cultural Week in Strasbourg in 1993, the programme «Raizes» (organised by the Ministry of Culture) in the Leonie Rysanek Saal Conservatory in Vienna in 2001. He formed and has led the Ensemble de Guitarras do Algarve and coordinated the Orquestra Juvenil de Guitarras do Algarve since 1999. He obtained prizes of distinction with his students at the National RDP Congress of Portuguese Youth Music. In 1997 and 2000 Eudoro Grade recorded 2 CDs of solo classical guitar music (supported by the Municipal Councils of Faro and Albufeira, the Ministry of Culture and the RTA. Friends of the Museum is a multinational, multicultural organisation that arranges a wide range of cultural and social events for the Portuguese and International community in the Algarve. The interests and activities of our members are very wide and include: art, literature, dance, music, photography, gardening, bridge, tennis, walking. There are also a number of talks on e.g. Portuguese History, Art and Literature and on various aspects of the Algarve e.g. fauna, flora and archaeology (talks are given in English, Portuguese and German). We organize visits to various sites of historical, scientific and general interest in the Algarve. We have a lending library for books, CDs and videos. Our members form our own choir and different music groups which play a range of instruments. Besides art and photo- graphy exhibitions, Friends of the Museum organise a regular programme of music from contemporary and traditional jazz, through to contemporary and classical music. Eudoro Grade plays classical guitar Regular activities include art classes, ballroom dance, salsa and merengue, bridge, Portuguese language and Yoga.
