BIOMAP 7 Welcome Reception – 14th June 2015
The Welcome Reception will take place at the
outdoor of the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciência
Viva (the Conference venue) at 16:30. With the
Tagus River as scenario you will enjoy some
traditional Portuguese food and a variety of
drinks.
Don’t be late because at 17:30, the show of
Instituto Superior Técnico Tuna will start.
After the Welcome Reception, at 18:30, take a
ride in the Telecabine Lisboa to have an
overwhelming view of Tagus River and Parque
das Nações. The futuristic architecture of
Eastern Lisbon is a complete contrast to the
city's old quarters. Most of it was built by
innovative architects for Expo 98, the World
Fair that took place in Portugal's capital
between May and September of 1998. You will
need to buy the ticket but there is a special
price for the BIOMAP 7 participants (3.56 €).
Telecabine Lisboa will take you to Parque Tejo
to join the show MEO Out Jazz. Lisbon is known
as a cosmopolitan and eclectic city, where
culture and music is on every corner. Here you
will have a taste of it! At MEO Out Jazz, we will
enjoy the jazz show of Adilan Ferreira + Jazz
Hop Portugal in the gardens of Parque Tejo,
next to the Tagus River and under the sunset of
Lisbon.
BIOMAP 7 Social Program – 17th June 2015
BIOMAP 7 Social Program intends to show you the best of Lisbon in a very informal way. So do
not forget to bring comfortable shoes to enjoy this wonderful social program that we have
prepared for you with all our affection!
At 15:00 we will take a TukTuk which will show
us the main neighborhoods of a city full of
history and amazing views. The starting point
will be at the Conference Venue (Parque das
Nações) and the end point will be at Praça do
Comércio.
These are the spots that we are going to visit
during the TukTuk ride:
Praça do Comércio - Praça do Município Chiado - Teatro S. Carlos - Teatro de S. Luiz Largo de Camões - Igreja de S. Roque Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara - Jardim
do Príncipe Real - Largo do Rato - Rua de São
Bento (Casa Museu Amália Rodrigues) ou
Basílica da Estrela (Calçada da Estrela) Assembleia da República - Poço dos Negros Calçada do Combro - Miradouro de Santa
Catarina - Elevador da Bica - Convento do
Carmo - Estação do Rossio - Rossio - Elevador
de Santa Justa.
At 16h30 we will make a walking tour in the most
famous neighborhood of Lisbon, Alfama, with a
dedicated guide that will tell us the history and
secrets of the streets, monuments and people.
The tour will include: Terreiro do Paço, Igreja de
Santo António, Sé de Lisboa and Castelo de São
Jorge.
At 19h30 we will have our deserved Conference
Dinner. The official dinner of BIOMAP 7
Conference will take place at the Zambeze
Restaurant, located in the Hill of the Castle of São
Jorge, with an amazing view over the city.
After BIOMAP 7 Dinner and during all the
week…
June is the month of the main Lisbon
festivities so… you will find everywhere in
Lisbon small parties, concerts and music. We
will show you!
