The size distribution is related to the total surface area of the system under evaluation and can affect chemical and physical reactions of the system in many ways. A number of sizing methods are available using different analysis techniques. Different physical characteristic of the particulate system are measured and interpreted according to the way they related to particle size. It is important to understand the theory and measurement being performed in order to properly apply each of the particle sizing techniques. techniques This seminar will examine a number of commonly used techniques for particle size analysis and will present the underlying theory and the physical characteristic that is being measured and interpreted as particle size.
