SBMicro2013 28th Symposium on Microelectronics Technology and Devices CHIP IN CURITIBA Curitiba, BRAZIL September 3 to 6, 2013 www.sbmicro.org.br/sbmicro Published by: The Electrochemical Society SBMicro2013 28th Symposium on Microelectronics Technology and Devices September 3 to 6, 2013 Curitiba, Brazil CHIP IN CURITIBA Call for Papers The SBMicro symposium is an international forum dedicated to fabrication and modeling of microsystems, integrated circuits and devices, held annually in Brazil. The goal of the symposium is to bring together researchers in the areas of processing, materials, characterization, modeling and TCAD of integrated circuits, microsensors, microactuators and MEMS. The SBMicro2013 will be located in Curitiba, Brazil. This international conference offers a unique blend of microelectronics and serves as a major conference for the discussion of interdisciplinary research around the world through a variety of formats, such as oral presentations, poster sessions, exhibits, panel discussions, and tutorial sessions. The best papers presented at the symposium will be invited to resubmit an extended version that will be considered for publication at the JICS - Journal of Integrated Circuits and Systems and at the Journal of the Electrochemical Society. Location: Curitiba is the capital of the Brazilian state of Paraná. It is an important cultural, political and economic centre in the country and in Latin America. The city sits on a plateau at 932 metres above sea level. It is located 105 kilometres (65 mi) west of the sea port of Paranaguá. Curitiba’s rapid expansion was based on the cattle trade, the city being located half-way between the cattle breeding country to the south and the markets to the north. Waves of European immigrants started arriving after 1850, mainly Germans, Italians, Poles and Ukrainians,In 2010 Curitiba was awarded the Globe Sustainable City Award which was set up to recognize cities and municipalities which excel in sustainable urban development around the world.
