ESPM PRESENTATION
Founded in 1951, ESPM was born from a dream. A dream propelled by
the moment the country was in. It was a time for economic and population
growth, high international investments, postwar euphoria and the appearance of
television, among so many other social historic and economic milestones in
Brazil. In the midst of all this vibrancy, the qualification of professionals to work
on advertising field and to divulge an increasing range of products was urged.
Along with this dream, writer and publicist, Rodolfo Lima Martensen, planned
the creation project of a school, soon supported by two important names on the
arts field and among the national business area: Pietro Maria Bardi, founder of
the Museum of Art in São Paulo (MASP), and Assis Chateaubriand, a baron of
the communication industry.
Baptized as School of Advertising of the Museum of Art of São Paulo, the
institution was maintained at MASP until 1955. Under Martensen’s supervision
and with the slogan “Teach who creates‟, the school convened, at this time,
business professionals to minister courses. The school was born from practice
and continued being a practice for many years", Piratininga explains.
Advertisement was treated as an art back then.
Progressively, the panorama started to shift, and
professionals started to occupy space among the professors.

The 1970 decade would bring some twists to the successful path of the
School. The first one was the name change to School of Higher Education in
Advertising and Marketing (ESPM). In 1971, under Otto Hugo Scherb
supervision, the institution was acknowledged by the Ministry of Education
(MEC). 3 years later, the expansion started, with the opening of a unit in Rio de
Janeiro. In 1978, ESPM started to offer post graduation courses. In the 1980
decade, Professor Francisco Gracioso took over the School’s presidency. At
this time, under his supervision, the unit of Porto Alegre started its activities,
and ESPM entered a virtuous cycle of growth and development, going through
a supervision restructuration, as well as its courses content.
From that time until today many things have been improved. 3 new
graduation courses have been incorporated to the School’s portfolio –
Administration (1991), Design (2004) and International Relations with emphasis
on Marketing and Business (2006) – post graduation activities increased and
the investment on properly didactic methods aiming on the best transmission of
a theoretical skeleton became tenacity, but not forgetting to focus on the
business.
All of this effort has shaped the School’s growth and can be translated in
the acknowledgement as a center of excellence of Administration, Marketing
and Advertisement education with focus on the business.
Today ESPM is acknowledged as the best Brazilian school of marketing
and advertisement.ESPM considers the business its guide, and follows it to
organize its academic structure, updating technological infrastructure, enabling

professional staff and developing extracurricular activities for its graduation
students.
It was also the first school to introduce Marketing in its basic formation,
with constant updates on international marketing and advertisement trends. It
offers its students a repertoire of great depth and business applicability.

COURSES
ESPM currently offers 5 (five) graduation courses:
- Administration
The Administration course is structured to form a responsible administrator,
capable of generating results, qualified to lead and deal with different kind of
people, active on making decisions and ready to face challenges.
- Social Communication – Bachelor's Degree in Advertising and Public
Relations
The course has tools that comprise every segment connected to advertising
and marketing as a sales promotion, guided merchandising and communication,
always focusing on creativity, solution and results.
- Social Communication – Bachelor's Degree in Journalism
The course will form professionals to exercise their activities in different
newsrooms of various types of media. At the same time, with a wide vision of
the business environment, making it possible for them to work with corporate
communication, through press and communication relations or in the field of
institutional disclosure in their own organizations.
- Design
The Design course makes it possible for students to have a solid formation in
project and planning, Visual Design field, environmental signaling, Design
focused on WEB and 3D.It works with updated disciplines and focused on the
formation of a qualified professional to solve problems and identify
opportunities.
The course structure has 3 big axes:Culture and Rationale, Project,
Management and Business; providing a broad and necessary education for the
business performance.
- International Relations
The course was structured so students don't lose their identity during the
Diplomacy course.The student will have 3 attributes at the end of the
education:Professional manager of international business, international
marketing manager and managing people; fundamental skills for a diplomat.
For this achievement, our students should develop real projects that can be
used in real situations with flexibility, manageability and a special training
program to elaborate and plan marketing strategies.

Classes take place from Mondays to Fridays, however, there’s a possibility of
some activities on Saturdays in all courses, as replacements, tests and classes.
Library
ESPM Library holds an extensive collection, trying to always be
updated.It includes books, thesis, monographs, magazines, specialized videos,
CDs collection, national and international media outlets and an electronic
database that facilitates access to information.
Services Offered to Student
- P.A.P.O. (Psychological and Organizational Support Program): opportunity for
dialogue and guidance for emotional, relational and professional issues.
- Cintegra (Center of Integration): It guides students who wish to start their
professional lives on career planning and personal marketing. (service to
students of São Paulo and Porto Alegre units)
- CDP (Center of Person Development): support service that assists careers in
relation to the area in which the student may work, your professional
responsibilities according to your profile, search for greater self-awareness,
resume formatting, tips and suggestions for job interviews, etc. (service to
students of Rio de Janeiro unit)
- ESPM Career: a helpdesk to questions based on the work of professional
guidance and psychology, offered only to graduation students of ESPM SP.
- Site – Access to Students: The student will have access to different types of
service when accessing the restricted areas on ESPM website through his login
and password. He will be able to see his report card and absences, issue a
copy of your billing slip, access your school calendar, get the class hours and
professors e-mails, assemble or make changes to your curricular timetable,
make requests through online applications and etc.

How to be an ESPM Exchange student
Academic Process for Exchange Students:
1 – Fill out and submit the Application Form in accordance with the schedule set
forth below (the forms will be forwarded by email to interested students).
2 – Provide a copy of the listed documents on the Application Form, attach it to
said form and submit according to the schedule set forth below.
3 – Choose the subjects offered in the curriculum of one of the ESPM
graduations courses.To do so, refer to the curriculum of the course and
formalize the application – it is recommended that the exchange student enrolls
in a number of disciplines equal or less than 6 (six).
4 – Submit the completed Application Form to: [email protected]

WELCOME TO BRAZIL
- Flag:
- Official Language: Portuguese, the eighth most spoken language in the world
and the third most spoken language among western countries.
- Official Currency: Real (R$), the official currency since 1994. Real bills have
Brazilian fauna as theme.Bills of 100 (Groupers), 50 (Jaguar), 20 (Golden Lion
Tamarin), 10 (Macaw), 5 (Heron), 2 (Sea-turtles) and 1 (Humming bird) are
circulating. There are also 6 models of coins circulating, of 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50
cents and 1 real.
- Territory: Territorial extension of 8.5 million km² divided into 26 states and the
Federal District, known as Federal Units, divided in five regions (North, North
East, Central West, Southeast and South).
- Weather: The weather in Brazil is mostly tropical, with temperatures usually
going above 20ºC. The seasons are distributed as follows: Summer (from
December 21 to March 20), Autumn (from March 20 to June 21), Winter (from
June 21 to September 22) and Spring (from September 22 to December 21).
- Religion: At first, the Brazilian people were formed strictly by Catholicism
brought by the Portuguese, Brazil’s creed gradually embodied African-Brazilian
cults during the colonial period, Protestantism brought by Europeans
immigrants and later Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and others.
Statistics from 2000 show that 73% of the population is formed of Catholics
(from which around 20% are practicing), 13% of protestants (or evangelic, how
they are called here), 2% are independent Christians (Mormons, Adventists,
Buddhists and Hinduisms), and 7% of Laics and Atheists, those who don’t
believe in God or are not linked to any Churches.

- Electricity: The voltage in the city of São Paulo is of 110 volts and 60HZ. But
in the leading hotels in the city, you will find outlets with a voltage of 220 volts.
Since August, 2010 it was established by the ABNT (Brazilian Association of
Technical Standards) the standardization for models of Brazilian outlets: bipolar
(with 2 entries) and bipolar grounded (3 entries).

-Vaccines: Brazilian and foreigners citizens travelling to areas with risk of

reported cases of the disease and that present risk of international propagation.
International Certificate of Vaccination (CIV) is a document testifying the
vaccination against yellow fever and/or other diseases. CIV shelf live is the

Admission Visa
Every Exchange student must apply for a Temporary Visa (as of
Foreigner Statute: Art. 13 – IV) for enrollment execution and completion of your
study in Brazil.
The Temporary Visa should be requested exclusively in the country of
origin and may last until 1 year. The student may request a prorogation of his
visa presenting his education performance at school.

Arriving in Brazil
- Exchange: For students that don’t have the local currency yet, arrange the
exchange of your money to Reais (R$ - Local currency) in one of the Currency
Exchange places available inside airports on a sufficient amount for the
payment of your transportation to the University or your housing, rent of your
housing, if necessary and food for a few days.
The student can make his futures exchanges in banks, brokers and other
institutions authorized to operate the exchange business by the Banco Central.
Tourism Agencies and hotels, convened with an institution registered on the
BC, they can also perform the exchange of small values. The list of these

- Travelers Checks: Traveler’s check can be exchanged in banks, brokers and
other institutions authorized by the Banco Central. Visit the following link for

- International Credit Card: The use of international credit card gives more
freedom for the student to make payments and exchange directly on ATMs (the
student have to confirm the service availability on the bank of origin and search
for ATMs rendering this type of service in Brazil).
RNE
The exchange student admitted with a temporary visa is required to
register and be identified in the Ministry of Justice before the Federal Police, 30
days following the student arrival in Brazil, in order to legitimate his permanence
in the country. The issue process of the RNE is required to be made in person
by the student in the Federal Police.
The steps below must be followed:

The form must be printed and can be paid on any bank branch.
5. Appear before the Federal Police with the following documents:
- GRU filled up and dully paid;
- Original passport and an authenticated copy of the used pages;
- Original Application Visa Form (document issued by the Embassy/Brazilian
Consulate in the country of origin);
- 2 3X4 recent photos, in color and white background
- Form to be filled out in the Federal Police premise

The student will receive a protocol with his photo attached as receipt that
must be used until his official RNE is ready. The deadline for issuing the identity
can reach 6 months. If any government department or organ requires the
number of your RNE go to the Federal Police Superintendence with the protocol
previously delivered to you to obtain this information.

Security Tips:
The police station specialized in Tourist Service has raised some
suggestions to ensure a safer stay for the tourist in the city of São Paulo:
At the Airport:
Make sure your luggage is closed precisely as it was on departure;
For information or help, always look for a police officer or an identified
employee;
Do not overlook your belongs at any times;
Do not open your luggage in public;
If you need to use ATMs, make sure no one is looking at your password
and in case of system failure report to an identified employee;
Do not accept any kind of package from strangers;
In case someone asks for help, do not stop paying attention on your
luggage and never be far from your belongings.
When using cab services or rental cars, always choose professionals
from companies registered;
When using the cell phone inside vehicles, make sure that it stays on the
opposite side from the window;
In case of traffic avoid handling large amounts of money inside the
vehicle.
At bars and restaurants:
Choose places indicated by acquaintances or employees and friends of the
institution; searching for information regarding the best time, types of service,
place, etc.;
Avoid leaving value objects on the table, like wallet and cell phone, especially
when absenting temporarily.
In public areas or exhibit parks:
Avoid talking to strangers, specially the insistent ones;
Don’t let your belongs unattended;
Don’t provide personal information;
Don’t handle big amounts of money;
Carry video cameras and photographic cameras discretely;
Use only registered transport;
In case of problems, always search for an identified employee.

Getting Around São Paulo
The city of São Paulo was founded on January 25, 1554; it is the largest
of the south hemisphere, with 1,530 km² of extension and holding 11 million
inhabitants.
- Weather: São Paulo is located on the Southeast region where the weather is
mostly tropical characterized by summer rains and temperature throughout the
year between 19°C and 27°C. Sometimes you can see all the seasons of the
year in one day in São Paulo.
During summer we usually have rain at the end of the day easing the
warmth of the day. During autumn, temperature is pleasant, reaching around
23°C. Winter has the sunny and driest days, with temperatures rarely going
below 15°C. On spring, the days are very warm and dry.

- Time Zone: It follows Brasília time, 3 hours before the Greenwich – GMT (-)3
hours. The city goes through the daylight saving time from October to February,

- Gastronomy: Southeast cuisine is essentially influenced by Portuguese,
Indigenous and African origins. Roots, meats, grains and vegetables were
scattered throughout the southeast territory. In the state, the international

Mainly Ingredients: rice, beans, eggs, meats, pasta, heart of palm, cassava,
banana, potato and tapioca flour.
Typical food: virado à paulista (Dish made the Paulista way), feijoada (type of
stew of beans with beef and pork), picadinho paulista (meat cut in cubes and
cooked the paulista way, pastel (a type of pasty).
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
- Student Electronic Ticketing System:
Destined to higher education students, this benefit allows you to make up
to 4 journeys during 2 hours, with half the price and is accepted on urban buses
of the city and on subways and trains.
To acquire this benefit, in addition to being enrolled, the student must live
within a distance higher than 1 km of the University and have a type of public
transportation in this course from house to school.
Contact the Secretary of Graduation to apply for an Electronic Ticketing
System, known as Bilhete Único.
- SPTRANS/EMTU:
SPTRANS operates on the city of São Paulo through lines that connect
cities through regular urban buses, under the responsibility of EMTU, operating
over 1,300 lines.
The working hours will depend on the line used. For information

The passage fee is R$ 3,00* per person.
- Subway
The subway is a quick and fast option to get around São Paulo through
its 4 lines: Line 1- Azul, Line 2- Verde, Line 3 – Vermelha and Line 4 Lilás.
Working hours of Lines 1 to 3 is from 4h40 to 24h from Mondays to Fridays and
on Saturdays from 4h40 to 24h01; line 4 works from 4h40 to 24h from Sundays
to Saturdays.
The subway has stations with integration to trains, bus terminals and to
Road Terminals of Jabaquara, Tietê and Barra Funda.

- Ponte Orca
Ponte Orca (Independent Collective Regional Operator) is a gratuitous
transportation between some CPTM stations and the subway and works “Stop
to Stop”, which means, it is not allowed to get in or get out during the course.
Tickets are offered by the responsible where the service works, free of charge,
and you have one (01) hour to use it.

The institution offers free transportation to students from Station Vila Mariana to
ESPM in the following timetables:
- Morning: from 6h30 to 7h45 (Leaving Subway Station Vila Mariana)
- Nights: from 18h20 to 23h35 (Leaving the institution parking lot located near
Philip Kotler Auditorium). At nights the course ESPM – Subway may also be
performed.

ESPM does not offer housing, we advise students to search for housing
before coming to Brazil. We can indicate housing to students. In case they are
interested, send an e-mail beforehand to [email protected].
Food
ESPM has 1 restaurant and 2 diners within the institution for the
students, however, it is not included on the monthly payment. There are
restaurants near the institution with equivalent prices.
Sports
The student enrolled at ESPM can practice sports, in teams and/or
individual through Atlética ESPM. Contact the entity directly at the institution.
Health Care
The institution provides medical ambulatory available for students from
Mondays to Fridays from 7h to 23h and on Saturdays 9h to 16h.
The student must contact a health care plan of his preference still in his
country of origin and verify before arriving in Brazil the process to
activate the policy, which types of cover are offered in cases of
emergency and ambulatories, which hospital units in São Paulo accept
reimbursement of medical expenses and any other information. A copy of
the policy will be required for completion of the enrollment at ESPM.
Internet Wireless
Campus Prof. Francisco Gracioso (Graduation) has Internet wireless
access from different places of the institution.
Central Library Napoleão de Carvalho
ESPM Central Library Central Napoleão de Carvalho has its name as
homage to the publicist, journalist and member of the Directive Board of the
School.
The library is divided in 6 personalized floors where the collections of
books, periodicals, monographs, thesis, dissertations, study booths equipped
for use of laptops, inquiry terminals, call center and etc… is distributed.
The bibliographic archive is computerized for inquiries through the
internet, website or even at the library.
Students regularly enrolled, professors, employees and former students
associated to EXPM (Association of Former ESPM Students) can enjoy the
Library. For such, it will be necessary presenting an identification card which is
unique, of personal character and untransferable.

Getting Around Rio de Janeiro
The city of Rio de Janeiro was founded on March 1st, 1565 and is the
second largest city of Brazil, with a territory of 1,182.296 Km² and over 6 million
inhabitants.
- Weather: Rio de Janeiro is a coastal city, it has a tropical weather and the
annual temperatures reach about 23.1 °C.
Summers have warm and humid days, eventually overcoming 40 °C in
isolated places, while winters are pleasant with rains more restricted, with
temperatures rarely lower 10 °C. In general, the year can be divided in two
seasons: one warm and relatively rainy and another with pleasant
temperatures; so, spring and autumn join to the characteristics of the other
season, they are more intervals of transition than season.

- Rio Card Expresso
It can be used in every public transport of the Rio de Janeiro State, no
matter the fee. Pre-loaded card are sold on the amounts of R$ 21.00, R$ 40.00
and R$ 80.00, they can be used immediately after the ticket purchase, It will be
activated the first time is used and the balance will be shown on the validator.
The delivery will be made in 5 business days, after credit payment is
confirmed, in Itaú Accredited Agencies and RIOCARD stores free of charge, or
in your residence – in this case, it will be charged a delivery fee. The first credit
requested must be a minimum value of R$ 40.00, with minimum recharges of
R$ 10.00.
- FETRANSPOR
Fetranspor – Federation of Companies of Transports of Passengers of
the State of Rio de Janeiro – it congregates 10 syndicates of bus companies
responsible for the urban, interurban, tourism and charter transportation. These
syndicates, on the other hand, gather 192 companies of public transportation
and 19 charter and tourism transportation, corresponding to 81% of regular
public transportation in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

with 2 much defined seasons: summer, with high temperatures and the winter,
with intense cold weather, it has the most severe winter of the country. Rains

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Public transportation in Porto Alegre presents one of the best quality
standards of the country. They have about 364 lines operated by 1,572
vehicles. The passage fee is R$ 2.85.
The vehicles are modern and comfortable. Most of it has air conditioner,
low floor, upholstered seats, GSM telephone and LCD television.
There are two types of buses lines: regulars (downtown-residential), 11
crossroads - T - (residential-residential) and 4 shuttle buses (with only
circulating only fro, 22h to 4h), which route covers only central neighborhoods.
The lines are usually named after neighborhoods and regions and has the same
name when they are doing the opposite route (residential-downtown), making it
simple and easy to be understood. Apart from the crossroads lines, every bus
has one of its terminals downtown, especially at Av. Senador Salgado Filho and
at Praça Parobé, next to the Public Business.
The shuttle bus line C4, known as Balada Segura is a Porto Alegre’s City
Hall project in connection with company CARRIS to offer a nocturne shuttle bus
going through all the bars in the city, stimulating drivers to use public
transportation and not drive under the influence of alcohol. This line starts to
circulate at 22h and stops at 4h in the morning, it is the only bus line that lets
people get on and get off outside stops, in a similar manner as the minibuses
called lotações (description below).
The city is also presented with lotações, a red and blue minibus, holding
up to 21 users (it is not allowed to transport passengers standing). They are
more comfortable, equipped with air conditioner, and a lot of them have recliner
seats, audio and TV. They are formed by 29 lines with these vehicles, identified
with the names of the neighborhoods they go through. This system’s advantage
is that there are no specified stops (other than begin and end of the line). The
passenger requests to get off the bus. Due to this differentiated service, the
passenger pays a fee of R$ 4.25 (R$ 1.40 more expensive than the regular bus
fee).

the country. They have 571 squares, eight wide afforested parks and 3
conversation units, which, amounts to 20.79 km², a real oasis in mixed with
urban turmoil.
Praça da Encol (Encol’s Square) – The square is located at the heart of Bela
Vista neighborhood. It’s the most visited square of Porto Alegre. A pleasant and
familiar environment. Located at Av. Nilo Peçanha / Av. Nilópolis.
Parque Farroupilha (Farroupilha Park) – Most traditional and popular park of
the city, also known as Redenção (Redemption). During the weekends, over 70
thousand people go after the area’s retreat, located in the Bom Fim
neighborhood, where there are 8.7 thousand native and exotic trees. They also
have kiosks, bars, athletics tracks, multisport court, minizoo, amusement park
and the Auditório Araújo Viana (Araújo Viana Auditorium). On Sundays, from 9h
to 17h, the park hosts Brique da Redenção (Redemption’s Brick), competitive
fair on open air of handicraft and antiques, located at Avenida José Bonifácio
(near the park). It’s a known haven for “alternative people".
Parque Moinhos de Vento (Windmill Park) – Called Parcão is the green lungs
of Moinhos de Vento neighborhood. Crossed by Avenida Goethe, it has two
distinctive environments. On the area with 11.5 hectares, the park has a lake,
hiking tracks, running tracks and skating tracks and a soccer field.
Parque Marinha do Brasil (Brazilian Navy Park) – With an area of 70.70
hectares, situated at Avenida Borges de Medeiros, neighborhood Praia de
Belas, with a beautiful landscaping project.
Jardim Botânico de Porto Alegre (Porto Alegre’s Botanical Garden) – One
of the most complete botanical gardens in the country. It also has a Museum of
Natural Science from the Fundação Zoobotânica do Rio Grande do Sul, forming
a preservation complex, research, education, leisure and recreation with a
natural archive of over 100 species.
Parque Maurício Sirotski Sobrinho (Harmonia) – With a aeromodelling track,
tanks for navalmodelling, children’s corner, soccer fields, bochas’ field,
volleyball court and over 100 grills. The park also has Estância da Harmonia, a
center of gaúchas traditions.
Praça da Alfândega (Alfândega’s Square) – One of the most ancient and
traditional squares of the city, situated at Porto Alegre’s Historical Center. It has
many monuments and sculptures in its corners. Every year, between October
and November, it is held the Porto Alegre Book Fair, one of the biggest cultural
events on the south of Brazil, attracting thousands of visitors.
Rua Arborizada (Forested Street) – A green tunnel, formed by the top of over
100 trees of tipu tree species, it is the main attraction at Rua Gonçalo de
Carvalho, on the south zone of Porto Alegre, it recently won the name of “most

beautiful in the world”. This status was given by a biologist from Portugal,

Fundação Iberê Camargo (Iberê Camargo Foundation)- In Porto Alegre the

Álvaro Siza. The bold concepts of award winning Portuguese architect are
exhibited on the Fundação Iberê Camargo building, distinguished center of

Centro Cultural Usina do Gasômetro (Cultural Center Gasometer Factory)
– In the building of the famous chimney, built in 1937, it worked an ancient
generator of electrical power based on mineral charcoal. In 1989, the City Hall
indicated the building as Cultural Space of Work, and, as of 1991, its 18,000m²
of area were open to the public. Managed by the City Hall, it has spaces for
exhibits, like Galeria Iberê Camargo (Iberê Camargo Gallery) and Galeria dos

There is much to do at the city, starting with a hike through the city’s
Historical Center, architecture inspired in Europeans standards, thanks to

Centro Histórico (Historical Center): It is the name of the most traditional
region in Porto Alegre, where the city was born over 200 years. There, on the
shore of Guaíba, between the narrow paving stone streets, where it is
concentrated 80% of its heritage buildings of the city. There are specimens of
colonial baroque architecture, even edifications more recent with eclectic and

between the core of Praça da Matriz to Cais do Porto. It is at Centro Histórico
that most of Museums and cultural centers meet.
Orla do Guaíba (Guaíba waterfront): Porto Alegre has at Guaíba Lake its
source of geographic expression. It’s 72 km of fluvial waterfront, partly
urbanized ad enjoyed for leisure and recreation activities by a population with a
tradition of value and enjoy open air life. The city has one of the most beautiful
sights among Brazilians biggest cities. At the end of the day, Calçadão de
Ipanema é is one of many places of waterfront that offer the spectacle of sunset
mutation colors of Porto Alegre, unique effect provided by the weather diversity
at the most meridional city in Brazil. During spring, the sunset happens at
around 18h45min. In the summer, at 20h45 (saving daylight time in Brazil); in

Linha Turismo (Tourism Line): Special bus service, operated by Tourism
Municipal Secretary, performing city tours through the points of interest of the

duration, drives through Centro Histórico area and near neighborhoods, going
through attractive points as Public Business, Paço Municipal, Praça da Matriz,

Iberê Camargo. The South Zone route, with 90 minutes duration, drives through
attractive points as the calçadão da Praia de Ipanema, orla do Guaíba,
Santuário Mãe de Deus at the Morro da pedra Redonda, and country area of
the city. With an exclusive layout, colored and almost 4 meters of height, the
bus has a double-deck. The second floor is open and is the most competitive
among the passengers, holding a panoramic view of the city. The tour has a
tourist guide specialized using an audio system to guide tours in three
languages, Portuguese, English and Spanish. The bus is equipped with security
cameras and universal accessibility.
Caminhos Rurais (Countryside paths): Porto Alegre has the privilege of
maintain a typically countryside area just a few minutes from the urban center.

The city has a diversified commerce in addition to a complete services
infrastructure. Especially concentrated at Centro Histórico and on the modern
shopping centers, the city also offers a varied street commerce. At the
neighborhood of Bom Fim, for example, Avenida Osvaldo Aranha has a
specialized commerce of furniture, haberdashery, flea business and
upholstered. At the Parque da Redenção, facing the avenue, Mercado do Bom
Fim is a traditional place of the neighborhood with floriculture, delicatessen,
petshop, ice cream shops, tobacco shop and handicraft shops.
At the Moinhos de Vento neighborhood, one of the fanciest of the city,
there are design boutiques and ateliers of high couture, which divide the
forested streets with art galleries, coffee shops, imported products stores,
furniture and décor, bookshops and floricultures.
At Avenida Ipiranga, the vehicle, parts and accessories commerce for

cuisine, the gastronomy is an attractive aside and one of the many multicultural

ESPM does not offer housing, we advise students to search for housing

ESPM does not offer restaurants inside the institution, but there are
many restaurants near the institution.
HEALTH CARE
The student must contact a health care plan of his preference still in his
country of origin and verify before arriving in Brazil the process to activate the

ambulatories, which hospital units in São Paulo accept reimbursement of
