1. INTRODUCTION
Horta Airport (LPHR) will begin in 26-OCT-2015, extensive rehabilitation and reconstruction works on the Apron and associated Taxiways, ‘A’
and ‘B’.
The works will consist as follows:
-
Surface interventions - milling old pavement and overlaying new asphaltic pavement for the Apron and associated Taxiways;
-
Apron and Taxiways markings painting works and installation of new signs;
-
Other complementary works.
This Manual VFR Supplement intends to inform all LPHR operators about works on the movement area and restrictions or limitations for
aircraft operations due to WIP.
2. VALIDITY
From 26-OCT-2015 with expecting end date 26-FEB-2016.
3. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS
General
The rehabilitation and reconstruction works of repaving Apron and Taxiways ‘A’ and ‘B’ consists essentially of:
-
Milling, cleaning and application of new mass bituminous of the asphaltic pavement on the Apron and Taxiwaus ‘A’ and ‘B’;
-
Apron, Taxiways and road markings painting works and installation of new signs.
In order to minimize the impact to the airport operations, some of the works are planned to being carried out during the night and other ones
during the day, on following period:
-
Night Period - MON-FRI 0000-0500 LMT
-
Day Period - MON-FRI 0800-1800 LMT
In any case not causing perturbations to the Airport operations.
Appendix 1 to this SUP details the area to be intervened as it the working phases and working period.
Concerning the the working phases, bellow, a short description of them:
-
Phase 1 - Zone 3, Zone 5 (Taxiway A and Apron) Maximum of 70 continuously days after the starting date;
-
Phase 2 - Zone 2 (Apron [Stand 2]) - Maximum of 20 continuously days after 1st Phase;
-
Phase 3 - Zone 1, Zone 4, Zone 6 (Taxiway B and Apron) - Maximum of 30 continuoulsly days after 2nd Phase.
If necessary, NOTAM will be promulgated providing additional information, including operational implications.
Working areas and temporary hazards will be marked, lighted by day and night and notified according ICAO Annex 14 and Doc. 9157 Part 6.
If considered, due to safety reasons, in the working areas ACFT guidance will be provided by Follow-me vehicle.
4. PRECAUTIONS
Pilots are advised of the following precautions:
-
During WIP will be implemented specific procedures for the manoeuvring and parking operations of the aircraft.
-
Presence of spotlights or obstruction lights at the working areas should not be confused with airfield lighting.
-
Men and Equipment under control of Airport Operations and TWR.
-
Repaved area will be marked during the next working period.

Irão ocorrer a partir de 26-Outubro 2015 obras no aeroporto da HORTA (LPHR) para reabilitação e reconstrução da Placa de
Estacionamento e dos Caminhos de Circulação "A" e "B" adjacentes.
Os trabalhos consistirão no seguinte:
-
Intervenções na superfície - remoção do pavimento, e aplicação de novo revestimento asfáltico na Placa de Estacionamento e nos
Caminhos de Circulação "A" e "B";
-
Trabalhos de pintura e instalação de nova sinalização;
-
Outros trabalhos complementares.
-
O objectivo deste Suplemento é o de informar todos os operadores acerca das obras na área de movimento e das restrições ou limitações às
operações de aeronaves devidas aos trabalhos em curso.
2. VALIDADE
Início a 26 Outubro 2015 com o fim de validade estimado a 26 Fevereiro 2015.
3. DESCRIÇÃO DOS TRABALHOS
General
De modo a minimizar a perturbação das operações no aeroporto, alguns dos trabalhos serão planeados para serem efectuados durante a
noite e outros durante o dia, nos seguintes horários:
-
Período Nocturno - Segunda-Feira a Sexta-Feira 00:00-05:00 LMT
-
Período Diurno - Segunda-Feira a Sexta-Feira 08:00-18:00 LMT
Os trabalhos de repavimentação da Placa de Estacionamento e nos Caminhos de Circulação "A" e "B", serão efectuados faseadamente por
secções e nos períodos detalhados no gráfico anexo (APPENDIX 1):
-
Fase 1 - Zona 3, Zona 5 (TWY A e Placa de Estacionamento) durante um máximo de 70 dias após o início;
-
Fase 2 - Zona 2 (Placa de Estacionamento - posição 2) durante um máximo de 20 dias após a 1ª fase;
-
Fase 3 - Zona 1, Zona 4, Zona 6 (TWY B e Placa de Estacionamento) durante um máximo de 30 dias após a 2ª fase.
Em caso de necessidade, serão emitidos Notam com informação adicional e/ou alterações com implicações operacionais.
As áreas de trabalho e os obstáculos temporários serão marcados, iluminados durante o dia e noite e notificados segundo ICAO Anexo 14 e
Doc. 9157, Part 6.
Um Notam será emitido para notificar degradação de ajudas visuais incluindo luzes de aeródromo, marcas e sinais.
Em caso de necessidade, devido a razões de segurança, nas áreas de trabalho será providenciado guiamento por Follow-me.
4. PRECAUÇÕES
Chama-se a atenção dos pilotos para as seguintes precauções:
-
Serão implementados procedimentos específicos para as manobras e operações de parqueamento das aeronaves durante os
trabalhos,
-
Presença de spotlights ou luzes de obstáculos nas áreas de trabalho que não devem ser confundidas com as luzes de aeródromo,
-
Área já repavimentada estará marcada durante o próximo período de trabalhos,
-
Homens e equipamento sob controle das Operações Aeroportuárias e da TWR.
