Between the academic years of 2012/2013 and 2013/2014, five members left the UCSC-IAHR due to finishing their research as PhD students at the University of Coimbra. However, eight new members joined UCSC, seven from the MSc in Civil Engineering with specialization in Hydraulic, Water Resources and Environment and another doing research work in our department (Department of Civil Engineering). The MatLAB is one of the most powerful languages for computational programming and data processing which can be applied in most of engineering fields. During those two days we had 8 modules, each one with a practical exercise in the end. More than 80% of attendees were students of the University of Coimbra and members of UCSC. These participants had reduced registration fees. Coimbra, 25th November 2014 Pedro Lopes João Vieira Ina Vertommen President Secretary Treasurer Page | 2 Page | 3
