MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE OURO PRETO (BRAZIL)
AND
UNIVERSITY XXXXXXX
Em reconhecimento aos interesses acadêmicos e
sociais, e com a intenção de estimular contatos
mútuos, o Reitor da Universidade Federal de Ouro
Preto e o Reitor da Universidade XXXXXXX vêm por
meio deste Protocolo de Intenções, estabelecer
programas de intercâmbio e colaboração em áreas de
interesse comum destas instituições. Este acordo
servirá como um documento geral de cooperação
entre ambas as instituições, e possui a intenção de
facilitar a discussão sobre programas específicos de
Colaboração. Particularmente, ambas as instituições
concordam em:
In recognition of common academic and social
interests, and with the intention of encouraging closer
ties, the Rector of Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto
and the Rector of the University XXXXXXX, hereby
enter into this Memorandum of Understanding to
establish programs of exchange and collaboration in
areas of mutual interest. This agreement will serve as
a general framework for cooperation between the
two institutions and is intended to facilitate the
discussion of more specific programs of collaboration.
In particular, the two institutions agree:
1. Convidar pessoas autorizadas para visitas mútuas,
em cada uma das instituições, com o propósito de que
as mesmas tornem-se conhecedoras dos programas
institucionais, desenvolvam mecanismos de
cooperação, expandam áreas operacionais e de
cooperação na instituição anfitriã.
1. To invite authorized officials from the other
institution to visit for the purpose of becoming
acquainted with the host institution's programs and
operation, developing the cooperative mechanism,
and expanding the areas of cooperation.
2. Identificar oportunidades para o intercâmbio entre
o corpo docente e demais funcionários de ambas as
instituições.
2. To identify opportunities for faculty and staff
exchanges.
3. Estabelecer programas que tornem possível o
acesso, de estudantes interessados e qualificados, em
programas de estudo, em cada uma das instituições.
3. To establish programs that will enable interested
and qualified students to pursue programs of study at
each other's institution.
4. Identificar outras possíveis áreas de interesse e
colaboração.
4. To identify other areas of possible interest and
collaboration.
5. Tornar o corpo docente, o corpo discente e o corpo
técnico-administrativo conscientes dos programas
acadêmicos, dos institutos de pesquisa, e de outros
recursos educacionais, em cada uma das instituições.
5. To make faculty, staff, and students aware of the
academic programs, research institutes, and other
education resources at the other institution.
6. Os discentes pagarão as taxas de anuidade na sua
universidade de origem, se necessário, sendo inscritos
gratuitamente e isentos das taxas da Universidade
anfitriã.
6. The students will pay tuition fees in their home
university, if necessary, and will be exempt of the fees
of the host University.

7. O âmbito das atividades acordadas neste
documento será determinado pelos recursos
financeiros obtidos, por ambas as instituições, através
de fontes externas de assistências financeiras, para
cada tipo de colaboração efetivamente realizada.
7. The scope of activities under this agreement shall
be determined by the funds regularly available at both
institutions for the type of collaboration undertaken
and by other financial assistance as may be obtained
by either institution from external sources.
8. A coordenação dos projetos propostos será
realizada pelo Gabinete de Relações Internacionais da
Universidade XXXXXXX e pela Coordenadoria de
Assuntos Internacionais da Universidade Federal de
Ouro Preto.
8. The coordination and administration of cooperative
projects will be undertaken by the International
Affairs Coordination of University XXXXXXX, and by
the International Affairs Coordination of Universidade
Federal de Ouro Preto.
9. Os convênios futuramente celebrados poderão ser
denunciados pelos partícipes, a qualquer tempo,
desde que haja comunicação prévia de, no mínimo, 06
(seis) meses, respeitadas as iniciativas em andamento,
ou rescindido no caso de descumprimento de
qualquer de suas cláusulas ou condições.
9. The agreement shall go into effect upon its
approval by each institution and shall continue until
such time as either institution gives notice to
terminate the agreement (minimum of a 6 month
notice).
9.1. O presente instrumento também poderá ser
rescindido, cientes as partes, quando denunciado por
uma das partes, mediante prévia notificação escrita,
com antecedência mínima de 06 (seis) meses.
9.1 Termination of the agreement shall require a
minimum of six months advance notice and shall be
without penalty.
9.2 Havendo pendências e/ou trabalhos em execução,
as partes definirão, através de um “Termo de
Encerramento de Convênio”, as responsabilidades
relativas à conclusão ou à extinção de cada um dos
trabalhos e de todas as demais pendências.
9.2 Should the above agreement be cancelled by
either institution, projects and work not yet
completed by the six month termination notice shall
be allowed to be completed.
10. Os casos não previstos nos convênios a serem
firmados serão decididos por meio de Termos Aditivos
aos Convênios celebrados.
10. In case of future additions to the agreement are
created, they can be added by way of future additions
to this agreement.
11. Este Protocolo entrará em vigor quando de sua
assinatura e publicação por ambas as instituições e
terá validade de 5 (cinco) anos, prorrogado
automaticamente por igual período se não houver, de
qualquer uma das partes, disposição em contrário.
11. This agreement will go into effect when the
signatures are publicized by both institutions.
12. Este Protocolo poderá ser revisado com o
consentimento mútuo do Reitor da Universidade
Federal de Ouro Preto e do Reitor da Universidade
XXXXXXX.
12. The agreement may be revised upon mutual
consent of the Rector of Universidade Federal de
Ouro Preto and the Rector of the University XXXXXXX.

13. Para dirimir qualquer dúvida suscitada na
execução e interpretação do presente instrumento,
não resolvida entre os partícipes, respeitadas as
disposições da legislação internacional, na ausência
de determinação em contrário, fica eleito o foro
competente do país e partícipe onde é realizada a
etapa ou fase em litígio.
13. To resolve whatever future problems that may
arise in either the execution or interpretation of this
agreement, not currently foreseen between
participants, in respect to international legislation,
participants will adhere to the law in regards to
resolving conflicts in/by each country.
E assim, por estarem justos e acordes, assinam o
presente instrumento em 02 (duas) vias de igual teor.
In agreement with the above, the present document
is signed in 2 (two) equal copies, by the two
signatures,
