This panel will discuss the strategies of insertion of the minor nobility of the land in
Portuguese American from the 16th to the 19th centuries, touching on individual and group trajectories
in order to identify common elements that might help construct a theory about how such relations
outwitted the boundaries of the social structures established in the colonial world.
