Este trabalho visa investigar a trajetória de mulheres negras nascidas na
cidade de salvador/Ba e mulheres negras que adotam a cidade como sua
terra de residência, buscando dar visibilidade à trajetórias de sucesso
(acadêmico e profissional). Ao buscar a compreensão das trajetórias de
sucesso destas mulheres e também, de como esses processos influenciam
na construção de suas identidades étnicas, procura-se mostrar a luta
incansável na busca da cidadania plena, na construção de uma história de
afirmação de identidade negra. Portanto, o trabalho se insere no campo das
relações raciais, perpassando as relações de gênero e os processos de
constituição de identidade e subjetividade da mulher negra. Ao trilhar esse
caminho procuramos discutir teoricamente, conceitos como: sucesso,
representação social imaginária, identidade e raça. Além disso, ao buscar
compreender a trajetória de vida destas mulheres (entre as quais me
incluo), este trabalho situa-se no campo da produção intelectual-ativista
que vai alem do discurso denuncista das situações de discriminações
vividas por elas. O foco central é dar visibilidade aos processos positivos
de lutas e conquistas, bem como o significado político do ser mulher negro
em uma sociedade marcadamente desigual no acesso deste grupo social
aos espaços de poder. Alem disso essa dissertação tem por objetivo não só
enumerar as situações de discriminações vividas pelas mulheres, mas,
sobretudo, dar visibilidade aos processos positivos de lutas e conquistas
das mesmas. Procuramos ouvi-las com intuito de entendermos o processo
de construção de sua identidade, de ser mulher negra com sucesso
profissional e social, que reinventaram suas vidas e hoje servem de
exemplo para as novas gerações. Essa experiência caracterizou-se pela
visualização oral da vivencia dessas mulheres, marias vitoriosas, em uma
sociedade machista, racista e sexcista.
ABSTRACT
This work investigates the trajectory of black women who were born in
Salvador, BA or who have adopted that city as place of residence. It seeks
to understand the successful (academic and professional) trajectory of
these women as well as how these processes have influenced in the
construction of their ethnic identities. This work aims also at shedding
light on the tireless struggle for full citizenship, and the building of a
history of affirmation of black identities. Therefore, the work is located
within the field of race relations, encompassing studies of gender relations
as well as processes of identity building and black women subjectivity.
This research seeks to theorize on concepts such as success, imaginary
social representation, identity, and race. Moreover, while seeking to
understand the trajectory of these black women (a group to which I
belong), this work is situated within the field of intellectual activism.
Therefore it goes beyond the denouncing discourses of the situations
experienced by these women. The central focus is to give visibility to the
positive processes of struggles and conquers, as well as the political
meaning of being a black woman in a society that is marked by the unequal
access of women of African descent to spheres of power. Moreover, this
dissertation not only aims at enumerating the situations of discrimination
experienced by these women, but to give visibility to positive outcomes in
their struggles and their victories. By listening to these women’s narratives
this project aims at understanding the process of identity building, and the
meaning of being socially and professionally successful for women of
African descent. It seeks to unveil how they have reinvented their lives,
becoming role models for future generations. This experienced is
characterized by the oral visualization of the living experiences of these
women, victorious Maries, in society marked by machism, racism and
sexism.
