Rafael V. Ribeiro Rafael V. Ribeiro is an agronomist by the Federal University of Lavras (Brazil) and completed his graduate studies at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) on Plant Physiology and Biochemistry (MSc, 2002) and Agricultural Meteorology (PhD, 2006). He worked as a researcher at the Institute of Agronomy (IAC) from 2005 to 2012, when he moved to the Institute of Biology, University of Campinas (UNICAMP). As an assistant professor at the Department of Plant Biology, he is interested on fundamental questions related to crop physiology and yield. By evaluating the physiological performance of sugarcane genotypes under constraining environmental conditions and the underlying mechanisms regulating the light use efficiency, his aim is to understand how sugarcane varieties cope with stressful conditions as well as their impact on biomass production.
