YOUTH, SCHOOL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL PRACTICES: AN INTERVENTION AND ITS RESULTS Andréa Viana Titon1 Lilian Caroline Urnau2 Andréa Vieira Zanella3 ABSTRACT This article discuss an intervention on educational psychology that had been carried out through workshops with students of a public school in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, during the second semester of 2005. A dialogical space was built in order to allow for the expression of the youth´ multiple and diverse interests, discussing themes such as drugs, violence, sexuality and projects of life. The experience leads to reflect on the role of the psychologist within the school institution and on the daily challenges faced by the pedagogical team. As far as the workshops are concerned, it was possible to identify some difficulties and possibilities embedded within the proposed activities. For the majority of the students there was an improvement in the quality of their communication in the group, especially after an activity of creation of an adolescent character through which they had been able to talk about themselves.
