Announcement of CCIAM Postgraduate Scholarships
Applicants Selected to be Awarded CCIAM Scholarships under Climate Change Impacts,
Adaptation and Mitigation Programme in Tanzania
In response to the challenges and impacts of climate change the Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania
and the Kingdom of Norway agreed to establish a partnership for adaptation to and mitigation of climate
change. Therefore, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in collaboration with the University of Dar es Salaam
(UDSM), Ardhi University (ARU), Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA), and several Norwegian institutions
coordinated by Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) have jointly developed the ‘CLIMATE CHANGE
IMPACTS, ADAPTATION AND MITIGATION PROGRAMME’ in Tanzania with ‘CCIAM’ as the acronym. As one of
the strategies for building and sustaining adequacy in national capacity to participate in Climate change
initiatives, the programme offers scholarship opportunities for postgraduate training in fields of relevance to the
objectives of the programme.
Following the announcement for the application of 25 Masters Scholarships under the CCIAM programme
advertised in Majira and Guardian in March 2011, the Programme has the pleasure to announce winners who
will be sponsored to undertake Masters Degree programmes at UDSM, SUA and ARU.
