UNESCO developed this Package as a means to respond to the global decline in provision of physical education, coupled with an increase in sedentary lifestyles which is leading to socio-economic problems related to physical literacy, health, civic participation and global citizenship. The package is designed to advocate for more investment in physical education programmes and to assist governments to revise policy measures as well as the implementation of physical education and includes an infographic advocacy document, Quality Physical Education Guidelines for Policy-makers, and a website featuring statistics as well as project information and tools. The next step of the project will be to accompany a selected number of governments to revise their policies in line with the guidelines. The project is being developed and implemented in close cooperation with ICSSPE, the IOC, UNDP, UNICEF, WHO and the European Commission. As in previous editions, FEADEF will give a book with the full papers the last day of the Congress. * The University of Canterbury (NZL) will host the 2015 Game Sense for Coaches and Teachers Conference to be held November 17-18. Game based teaching and coaching presents an exciting alternative to instruction that focuses on learning technique in the teaching of games in physical education and coaching sport. Over the past decade or two there has been ever increasing interest in Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU), Game Sense and other game based approaches. Collaboration between a group of universities in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Taiwan has given rise to the Game Sense for Teaching and Coaching Conferences run in one day or two day formats. The 2015 Game Sense for Teachers and Coaches Conference at The University of Canterbury will continue this tradition. The Share the Knowledge Programme is a joint initiative of ICSSPE and Human Kinetics Publishers. Both partners have agreed to distribute sport science, physical education and sport publications to ICSSPE members that do not have the financial resources to buy them. Human Kinetics is giving books that are not quite fit for resale, ICSSPE is organizing and financing the distribution. Up to 50 books may be requested at one time.
