III was signed in March 2000 and come into force for a period of 7 years, from January 2000 to December 2006. It consists of a partnership contract between the Portuguese Government and the E.C. and aims to carry out in the field a wide diversity of programmes, defined by Sector and by Region and known as Operational Programmes.
