É
usado
para
descrever
ações
que
aconteceram em um passado definido.
Os verbos em inglês podem ser regulares,
quando apresentam a mesma terminação,
ou irregulares, com terminações diferentes.

No Passado Simples, basta flexionarmos o verbo
principal.
Exemplos:

Para alguns verbos regulares, é necessário
seguir algumas regras antes de acrescentarmos
o sufixo -ed, pois isso varia de acordo com a
terminação verbal.
Vejamos alguns casos especiais:
• Em verbos que terminam em e, acresenta-se d.
• Exemplo: Like/ liked
• Em verbos que terminam em y precedido de consoante,
elimina-se o y e acrescenta-se –ied.
• Exemplo: Study/ Studied

• Em verbos que terminam em consoante+ vogal+
consoante, cuja sílaba tônica é a última, dobra-se
a última consoante e acrescenta-se -ed.

Lembre-se:
O acréscimo de -ed aos verbos, no
passado simples, na forma afirmativa, é
utilizado para todas as pessoas dos
pronomes pessoais. {I, you, he, she, it,
we, you, they}.
Nas formas negativa e interrogativa,
usamos o did para formarmos o passado.

geral.
Recomenda-se
a
aprendizagem pelo uso constante dos verbos.

O past continuous é usado para
• descrever ações em progresso em um
determinado período no passado;
• descrever uma ação que estava ocorrendo
quando outra aconteceu;
• indicar duas ou mais ações que ocorreram ao
mesmo tempo no passado. Nesse caso, usa-se
as conjunções While e When.
