Short Biography Fernando Martins is responsible for Intel’s market expansion and innovation initiatives in Brazil - the 3rd largest market for Intel worldwide. He is a member of CNI’s MEI (Movimento Empresarial pela Inovação), board member of AMCHAM-Brazil, and Vice President of the board of BRASSCOM(the Brazilian Association of IT Industry) in charge of public policy formation for New Technology Trends. Fernando has extensive leadership experience in management of innovation and technology development. His Intel career comprises a wealth of management experiences that comprise Research Manager at Intel Labs, Director of Strategic Planning at Intel Corp, and General Manager of Intel do Brazil. He has been in the IT industry since 1984, lived in US for 20 years and has been with Intel since 1997. He received twice the Intel Achievement Award - the highest honor granted by the corporation - for his contributions to the advancement of Intel’s product roadmap. Prior to Intel Fernando held appointments at IBM, Rockwell, Allen Bradley, and two startup companies. Fernando has over 40 publications including 26 patents. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer engineering from USP (Universidade de Sao Paulo), a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and is alumnus of the OGI/Stanford Executive Education program.
