Myron Tucker - EUA
O Dr. Tucker graduou-se pela Arizona State University (Universidade Estadual do
Arizona) e obteve o título de Dentista pelo Baylor College of Dentistry (Faculdade de
Odontologia Baylor) em 1976. Ele concluiu a residência em Cirurgia Bucomaxilofacial
na Medical University of South Carolina (Universidade de Medicina da Carolina do Sul).
Foi professor catedrático da Faculdade de Odontologia e dos Hospitais da University of
North Carolina (Universidade da Carolina do Norte) de 1982 a 1992, onde foi diretor
dos cursos de pós-graduação em Cirurgia Bucomaxilofacial. Foi Professor Clínico
Adjunto de Cirurgia Bucomaxilofacial no Louisiana State University Medical Center
(Centro Médico da Universidade do Estado da Luisiana, em Nova Orleans, LA, EUA) e
da University of North Carolina (Universidade da Carolina do Norte) em Chapel Hill. O
Dr. Tucker é especialista certificado pelo American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery (Academia Americana de Cirurgia Bucomaxilofacial), atuou como examinador e
presidente de seção para os exames de qualificação e certificação da referida
Academia.
O Dr. Tucker é editor e co-autor de seis livros didáticos de Cirurgia Bucomaxilofacial
amplamente utilizados nos Estados Unidos e outros países, e traduzidos para o
Português, Coreano, Chinês e Italiano. Ele é também autor de 28 capítulos em outros
sete livros. O Dr. Tucker tem intensa atividade em pesquisas clínicas e de ciência básica
e escreveu mais de 50 artigos em periódicos científicos. Ele proferiu diversas
conferências nos EUA e outros países abordando variados assuntos, com foco principal
em cirurgia ortognática. Dr. Tucker aposentou-se recentemente da prática
odontológica, mas continua ativo na educação em Cirurgia Bucomaxilofacial e como
consultor da sua especialidade.

Adjunct Clinical Professor, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery - Louisiana State University
Medical Center New Orleans, LA
Dr. Tucker obtained his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and
received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1976. He completed his
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
He was a full time faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of
Dentistry and UNC Hospitals from 1982-1992 where he was the director of graduate
education in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He was an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Louisiana State University Medical Center in New
Orleans, LA and the University or North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Tucker is a
diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and served as an
examiner and section chairman for the ABOMS board examinations.
Dr. Tucker is an editor and co-author of six textbooks on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
These textbooks have been widely used throughout the United States and other
countries with the book translated into Portuguese, Korean, Chinese and Italian. He has
also written 28 chapters in seven other books. Dr. Tucker has been very active in clinical
and basic science research and has written over 50 publications in scientific journals.
He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on many subjects with
his primary focus on orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Tucker recently retired from active practice but continues to be active in oral and
maxillofacial surgery education and as a consultant to this practice.
