Objetivo
The aim of this paper is to discuss the global configuration picture in
order to suggest a series of improvements and further optimize the
system configuration engineering. This includes the harmonization
with the IEC 61970/IEC 61968 (Control Center) and Substation
automation system with IEC 61850, the definition of additional data
models and workflow.
Finally the possible evolution of the role of the various actors is
highlighted.

Conclusões
This paper has shown that the effort must be pursued: integrate
data from control centre and other substation configuration
data, as well as re-think the role of user, supplier, integrator and
architect in this new environment. Example of what is done in the
French Transmission Network has been presented.
The harmonization of 61850 with IEC 61970/61968 is also a part of
a more global and consistent approach given by UN-CEFACT
ebxml Core Component Technical Specification.
For EDF R&D Division this process, combined with IEC standards,
is seen as a way to manage complexity for some electrical utilities.
