Criada em 2010, a AIM pretende reunir em Portugal o conjunto de investigadores que têm em comum objetos
e temas de pesquisa relacionados com a imagem em movimento. Com este objetivo, realizaram-se já quatro
encontros anuais: na Universidade do Algarve, Faro (2011), na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisboa (2012),
na Universidade de Coimbra (2013) e na Universidade da Beira Interior, Covilhã (2014).
O V Encontro Anual da AIM terá lugar no ISCTE-IUL, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa,
nos dias 21, 22 e 23 de maio de 2015, numa organização conjunta da AIM, o CRIA – Centro em Rede de
Investigação em Antropologia e o ISCTE-IUL, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
Os conferencistas convidados deste Encontro cuja presença já está confirmada são: Laura Rascaroli,
da University College Cork (Irlanda), autora de The Personal Camera: Subjective Cinema and the Essay Film (2009)
e editora principal de Alphaville: Journal of Film and Screen Media; Lúcia Nagib, da University of Reading (Reino
Unido), autora de World Cinema and the Ethics of Realism (2011) e A Utopia no Cinema Brasileiro: Matrizes,
Nostalgia, Distopias (2006); e Toby Miller, da University of Cardiff (Reino Unido) e Murdoch University
(Austrália), autor de Greening the Media (2012; com Richard Maxwell) e Blow Up the Humanities (2012).
A AIM convida-o a submeter propostas de comunicação, em português, inglês ou castelhano,
que não excedam os 1500 carateres (incluindo espaços), nas seguintes áreas (que poderão ser alargadas a
outras): cinema, televisão, vídeo e media digitais.
A assistência é livre, podendo as propostas ser submetidas por membros da AIM e por não-membros.
As contribuições poderão (em opção mutuamente exclusiva) assumir a forma de comunicações individuais ou
painéis pré-constituídos. Alguns painéis poderão ter respondentes. Os proponentes que já sejam membros
da AIM terão de renovar a sua inscrição e proceder ao pagamento das quotas (30€/normal;
20€/estudante) relativas à anuidade de 2015 até 31 de dezembro de 2014. Enquanto não efetuarem a
renovação, não poderão submeter a proposta como membros (a participação no Encontro, após a inscrição,
será gratuita). Os não-membros que queiram participar no Encontro deverão submeter proposta até 31 de
dezembro de 2014 e pagar o valor da inscrição no congresso (50€) até 25 de fevereiro de 2015, caso a sua

O prazo para submissão de propostas termina a 31 de dezembro de 2014.

Call For Papers
Founded in January 2010, AIM – the Portuguese Association of Researchers of the Moving Image aims at
gathering scholars and researchers whose common subjects and research themes are related to the moving
image. With this in mind, four annual meetings have been organized: at the University of Algarve, Faro (2011), at
the Portuguese Catholic University, Lisbon (2012), at the University of Coimbra (2013), and at the University of
Beira Interior, Covilhã (2014).
ISCTE-IUL, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa will be hosting the V AIM Annual Meeting
in Lisbon, on May 21st, 22nd e 23rd 2015, in a joint organization of AIM, CRIA – Centro em Rede de
Investigação em Antropologia, and ISCTE-IUL, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
The confirmed guest speakers of the V AIM Annual Meeting will be: Laura Rascaroli, from the
University College Cork (Ireland), author of The Personal Camera: Subjective Cinema and the Essay Film (2009)
and general editor of Alphaville: Journal of Film and Screen Media; Lúcia Nagib, from the University of Reading
(UK), author of World Cinema and the Ethics of Realism (2011) and Brazil on Screen: Cinema Novo, New Cinema,
Utopia (2007); and Toby Miller, from the University of Cardiff (UK) and Murdoch University (Australia),
author of Greening the Media (2012; with Richard Maxwell) and Blow Up the Humanities (2012).
We invite you to submit proposals for either papers or pre-constituted panels, in
Portuguese, Spanish or English, not exceeding 1500 characters (including spaces), in the areas of film, television,
video, and digital media studies. The list is indicative and may include other areas.
Attendance is free, and it is possible to submit proposals as an AIM member or as a non-member. Your
contribution can be either an individual paper or a pre-constituted panel. Some panels may have respondents.
AIM members must renew their 2015 membership until December 31st, 2014
(30€/normal; 20€/student). Only after renewing your membership will you be able to submit a proposal. Nonmembers should submit a proposal until December 31st, 2014 and pay for their registration (50€), in case of
acceptance, no later than February 15th, 2015..
Further information on the terms of participation, forms of contribution and submission of proposals can
be found in the online Call for Papers, available here. Conference proceedings will be published
electronically after the meeting.
