UNION MAKES THE SHOW: THE POWERFUL SOUND OF PICK-­‐UPS, THE PULSATING BEAT OF THE DRUM AND TAMBOURINES, THE FUTURISTIC WAY AND THE GAME OF LIGHTS ARE A PERFECT MATCH OF GROOVE SAMBA Created by DJ Claudinho RS, the musical group put together electronic music and eight percussionists in exciting presentations marked by musical quality and beautiful visual effects; repertoire is filled with classics of MPB, House, Rock and even Black Music The diversity and breadth of music allow the union of different musicians and sounds that, ages ago, would never meet on the same stage. The trend of experimentation in music is not new, but if done in a properly and synchronized way, brings results and incredible innovations, surprising the audience by the quality and versatility. That´s the case of Groove Samba, a group created seven years ago by DJ Claudinho RS, who joins the thrilling vibes of electronic music with the pulsating energy of percussion. Allowing himself to experience, Claudinho RS, a recognized DJ who liven up parties of São Paulo's high society, sought in percussion instruments, like drum, tambourine, among others, a new beat to his electronic music. "The idea of joining samba percussion with DJ already existed, but was not a perfect fusion as the one we get in Groove Samba," says the DJ. A repertoire stuffed with classics of MPB, rock, House, Black Music and hits from the 70, 80 and 90 years, makes Groove Samba concerts a ideal show for all tastes. Altogether, the group's formation has a DJ and eight percussionists. But, Groove Samba does not impress only for the unusual meeting of the electronic music with drumming percussion. The visual aspect is also one of the hallmarks of their performances. With a futuristic way, eight percussionists take the stage or interact with guests on the dance floor, dressed in shiny silver-­‐colored overalls. Completing the "space" atmosphere, rhythmic lights gives a great spectacle, reflecting at the percussion instruments that are made exclusively in transparent acrylic. Currently, Groove Samba has four "teams" of musicians, allowing simultaneous presentations in several locations and in different cities. Social parties and corporate events Ever-­‐present at parties of corporate world, Groove Samba has performed at several events for companies -­‐ including Shell, Formula 1 Brazil Grand Prix (2008 and 2010) -­‐ and also for individuals -­‐ weddings, debutantes, graduations, among others. Currently, the group has a full and faithful customer base, as the modeling agency Ford Models, Pão de Açúcar Group, Time For Fun (T4F), Iguatemi São Paulo Group, Telecine, etc… Supermodel Naomi Campbell has surrendered to the charm of Groove Samba after see the presentation that took place at the home of Ana Paula Junqueira, a socialite from São Paulo and godmother of the group. Paulo, in Virada Cultural of São Paulo at MuBE -­‐ Brazilian Museum of Sculpture, which is also partner of the group. One of the most recent and striking presentations of Groove Samba took place in September of 2010 when the group was invited to make a special appearance on the launch show of the album Music Freedom from singer Claudia Albuquerque. For the show, Claudia invited the group to perform important reinterpretations of songs as Like A Prayer, by Madonna, Mercy, by Duffy, and Use Somebody, by Kings Of Leon. After that, the group performed with the singer at an event in Bahia and at Club A, in São Paulo. In 2010, DJ Claudinho RS decided to expand the frontiers of Groove Samba, joining the maestro Renato Misiuk, from Allegro Choir and Orchestra. Thus was born Groove Allegro, that takes to the stage presentations filled with experimentation, symphony orchestra, chorus, maestro, percussionist and DJ. With great aplomb and creativity, the group performs different styles, such as MPB, House and even Black Music.
