Standing in the shade of the trees of the romantic
Jardim das Amoreiras, opposite the Aqueduct, the
Capela de Nossa Senhora de Monserrate and the
reservoir of Mãe d'Água, is the Fundação Arpad
Szenes - Vieira da Silva. Located in the former
18th-century Royal Silk Factory, now refurbished
and adapted to house a Museum and a Documentation and Research Centre, the Foundation, which
was inaugurated in November 1994, has as its main
aim to promote and study the work of the artists
