PRESENTATION
Located in the centre of Lisbon, in the historical
district of Chiado, the National Museum of Contemporary Art – Museum of Chiado has been housed in a part of the former Convento de São
Francisco since 1911. The Museum’s collection covers the history of art in Portugal from 1850 to the
present day, representing the most important collection of Portuguese contemporary art. The Museum gives special attention to temporary
exhibitions centred on retrospectives of prominent
artists or movements at a national level, namely
exhibiting the works of artists such as Paula Rego,
Helena Almeida, Julião Sarmento, Pedro Cabrita
Reis and Ângela Ferreira, amongst others

ACCESS
Full access for people with reduced mobility to all
of the exhibition rooms by lift (except the Gangway
over the Entrance Hall). For wheelchair users, access to the garden is via the emergency exit on
Level 1. The use of this exit should be requested at
the reception

sale: Museum publications, replicas and other pieces inspired upon the Museum’s collection. Publications from other IMC museums are also on sale
