Marfrig is the First Food Company to Receive the Transparency Trophy, the Annual
Award granted by Anefac, Fipecafi and Serasa Experian
São Paulo, September 23, 2011 – Marfrig Alimentos S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: MRFG3 and ADR (Nível 1): MRTTY), a global
food company, hereby informs its shareholders and the market in general that it has won the 2011 Transparency
Trophy for the first time, achievement that also marks the first entry of a food industry representative into the group
of the 15 most transparent publicly-held companies.
The Marfrig Group, through its parent company Marfrig Alimentos S.A., was elected the winner of the 2011
Transparency Trophy thanks to a number of factors, including the quality, level and transparency of the information in
its financial statements, the quality of the management report and its consistency with the information disclosed,
adherence to accounting principles, the qualified independent auditors’ report, the quality of its results disclosure and
the disclosure of relevant aspects that are not required legally, but which are important for the business. Analyses are
based on essentially technical criteria established by the Accounting, Actuarial and Financial Research Institute
Foundation (FIPECAFI) involving the evaluation of more than 800 financial statements.
Marfrig considers this Award as recognition for the joint work of its professionals in building a sector benchmark
model based on sustainability and on the highest standards of corporate governance.
