Before joining ESMT, he worked five years in industry at Otto Versand and as vice president at the Bertelsmann Buch AG, five years at consulting practice Arthur D. Little, and five years as independent consultant focusing on private equity financing of SMEs. Christoph Burger Senior Lecturer and Senior Associate Dean of Executive Education, ESMT His research focus is on long-term industry development, specifically in the energy sector, decision making/ negotiation and innovation. He is author of the “ESMT Innovation Index – Electricity Supply Industry” and the book “The Decentralized Energy Revolution – Business Strategies for a New Paradigm”. He was appointed to the Commission by the Federal Minister of Justice in his capacities as an economist representing the academia and speaker of the Berlin-based initiative “German Code of Corporate Governance”. Since 1993 Professor von Werder holds the chair of business administration and particularly organization at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin). He heads the Berlin Centre of Corporate Governance (BCCG) which was founded in 2002 with the support of notable German companies and acts as a bridge between academia and corporate practice on the subject of corporate governance. Professor von Werder has published 16 books and more than 150 essays and articles. He is a member of the nomination committee of the German Financial Reporting Enforcement Panel (DPR) (until the end of 2005 founding chairman), and a member of the board of the SchmalenbachGesellschaft fuer Betriebswirtschaft e.V. From 1997 until 2010 Professor von Werder was co-editor of the journal ‘Organization Science’. From 1986 until 2011 he was a member of the working group ‘Organization’ of the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft (from 2003 on as chairman of this working group). His studies in business administration at the University of Cologne mark the basis of his scientific career. After serving as an assistant at the university RWTH Aachen he qualified as a professor in 1993 at the University of Cologne. Further to his appointment at the TU Berlin Professor von Werder was offered professorships at the universities of Bayreuth (1993) and Bamberg (1997). Jens Weinmann received his PhD in Decision Sciences from London Business School.
