A Small country where everything is at hand. In a few days, a short bus ride and you are everywhere! A short walk
through the streets of Lisbon and you will discover lots of unique places. . An old-fashioned charm, with its medieval
castles and picture-perfect villages, meandering coastlines and flower-covered hillsides. A country proud of its History,
which can be felt and lived from North to South,

ITINERARY
1st Day
Lisboa

Breakfast at the Hotel. De day will be dedicated to visiting the City. In the morning the focus will be on : Torre de Belém (the
intentions for its construction were to defend river Tejo estuary. It has remarkable Moore influences and is Cultural World Heritage
by UNESCO), Padrão dos Descobrimentos; (built to evoke Portugal maritime expansion) ; Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Dated
from XV century. Its construction began in the reign of King Manuel I to commemorate the discovery of sea route
to India. It was listed World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO) . A stop for a taste of the famous “Pasteis de Belém” ( traditional
cookie ). Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch the visit will follow to the old part of Lisbon. We will do it aboard the typical Lisbon
Trams “Electricos”, passing by Chiado, the Cathedral, (built by the first King of Portugal in 1109/1185), the old paths of Alfama.
After the tour return to your hotel in Lisbon.

Breakfast at the Hotel. Today a Bus drive along the seaside to meet Estoril (refuge of Jews, politicians, artists and writers during
the II World War is today a cosmopolitan center with a great night life); Cascais (seaside resort favoured by the aristocracy
during XIX century); Guincho. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch on the way back to Lisbon, visit to Palácio de
Queluz (Originally a summer retreat, later became the residence of the Portuguese royal family). Return to your Hotel
in Lisbon

3rd Dia –
Lisboa / Évora / Estremoz

Breakfast at the Hotel. We start today a short stroll around Portugal. Starting by Alentejo you will visit Évora and
Estremoz. Lunch will be at a Local restaurant in Évora.
Later in the afternoon arrival and check in at Pousada
Rainha Santa Isabel in Estremoz.
Évora, historical city in the middle of Alentejo (South Region), about 130km from Lisbon. Its historical center
is classified by UNESCO as World Heritage . Its history dates quite back in centuries. Romans came and called the city
“Ebora Liberalitas Julia”; after came the Visigoths ; the Moors to which the legendary Geraldo Sem Pavor (Gerald
without fear) reconquered the City in 1166. Here the Jesuits founded a University, which many centuries later has been
closed by the order of Marquês de Pombal when he expelled the Jesuits out of Portugal.
Estremoz, was founded in the 13th century by King D. Afonso III . Is internationally known because of its deposits of
white marble. The extraction of this marble comes from far back in time. Evidences of this are the R oman Temple and
the altar of Evora’s Cathedral
4th Day
Estremoz / Marialva

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning visit to Monte Seis Reis, for a wine tasting. (Farm of the Six Kings: it’s a brand
created after a research into the history of Estremoz, region that had very close ties to five Portuguese Kings and one
Queen. Their wines and vineyard have been named after these six historic figures) . Departure to Alter do Chão.
Lunch at a local typical restaurant. Then visit the Stables of Alter do Chão where you will be able to appreciate the
famous Lusitano horse breed. After you will continue to your hotel in Marialva: Casas do Côro.
Marialva – one of Portugal historic villages.
Situated on a rocky hill 580 meters above sea level, the village was
occupied even before the Romans. In 1063 it was conquered from the Moors and still retains the same name as then.

Day
Marialva / Lamego

Breakfast at the Hotel. Today our trip will follow to the Douro region, having time to appreciate the beautiful landscape.
Arriving to Douro visit and Lunch at a local Farm. After lunch panoramic City Tour of Lamego and then a wine tasting at
Caves da Raposeira e Murganheira. After the visits transfer and check in at your Hotel Rural Quinta da Pacheca.
Lamego – on the left bank of Balsemão river its origin is very remote. A very important center during the Swabian (VI
century) and Visigothic Periods. Located in the wine region of Douro, knew its main development during the XVIII e XIX
centuries, when the port wine also knew its apogee
6th Day
Lamego / Porto

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning we star our trip to Oporto. Panoramic city tour of the city. Check in at your Hotel:
The Yeatman . Lunch will by the river at the picturesque quarter of “Ribeira”. After lunch visit to a well known Port wine
cellar “Caves Taylor”. After the visit return to your hotel.

7th Day
Porto / Sintra

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning we start our trip to the Southern region. Lunch en route. After lunch we
continue to Sintra. Arrival at your Hotel Palácio de Seteais

quite untouched , brings together the most beautiful palaces and parks, manor houses with
their gardens and forests, palaces hidden in the middle of exuberant vegetation, meditation convents amid cliffs and
forests, churches, chapels and hermitages and still a number or archaeological sites which link to the occupations some
of them millenarian.
8th Day
Sintra / Lisboa

Breakfast at the Hotel. Today we will visit a most important monument Convento de Mafra. Lunch will be at a local
restaurant in Guincho. After lunch return to your Hotel in Lisbon. Hotel Don Pedro
Convento de Mafra - built by the order of the king D. Joao V in 1711, is the most sumptuous convent and Portuguese
baroque monument. It is the paradigm of the richest period of the Portuguse history, thanks to gold from Brazil. It was
built to fulfill the promise of the king should he have a descendant to the throne. The convent was occupied by the
Franciscans who developed the pharmacy and nursery, while the other occupants of the convent, the Dominicans have
developed the library.
9th Day
Lisboa

Breakfast at the Hotel. For today we propose a walking tour Lisbon: Convento dos Cardaes, Church of São Roque,
descending Chiado a stop for a “bica” (black coffee) at one of the traditional cafés. Arriving to Rossio time for another I
stop this time to taste a traditional “ginjinha” (a typical alcoholic drink) . Then, uphill again, this time by one of the several
funiculars if the city and we arrive to another ancient quarter Bairro Alto. Time for a magnificent view over the city from
one of the many city viewpoints “Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcantara”. Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer back to
your Hotel.
End of Trip !
