A Bad Case of Portuguese Design
One can no longer speak of Design in Portugal without mentioning BOCA DO LOBO, PORTUGALBRANDS, PREGGO
or FUNDAÇÃO DO DESIGN. These are four major projects for the Enhancement of Portuguese Design and all belong
to the same Business Group: a MENINA DESIGN GROUP.
Designed to elevate the Portuguese design worldwide, MENINADESIGN GROUP follows a path of great consistency in
these first seven years. Starting at the Interior Design where the company collaborated and signed various public and
private projects including the Hotel Infante Sagres in Porto, it quickly took the step to international markets with the
creation of BOCA DO LOBO, award-winning brand (JULI B BEST PRODUCT DESIGN 2010) and recognized in
international markets, with media coverage around the world (made the cover in various journals and book cover).
It is today the Portuguese brand of home sector with greater international recognition and sells to more than 35 markets.
Later, when it was realized that Portugal had everything to succeed in the international market, MDG came to the
conclusion that lacked the communication skills to sell the brand. To fill this great void and connection between the
brand and the customer, we created PORTUGAL BRANDS, what is now seen by many Portuguese companies as a
strategic tool for internationalization.
PORTUGAL BRANDS's mission is to lead the Movement for the Promotion of Portuguese Brands in the World. We
want and will work to see the Portuguese products be a part of the great choices of architects, designers and interior
decorators worldwide.

This year PORTUGAL BRANDS will present a set of services, which highlights the PORTUGALBRANDS.COM, which
promises to be the Biggest Virtual Window of Design and Portuguese Brands. It will give special attention to PREGGO
(the production unit of MENINA DESIGN GROUP), which last year became the Centre for Research and Product
Development.
The brand’s capability proves, once again, the group's strategic vision for the enhancement of Portuguese Design,
opening the doors of its production to other artists, designers, architects, furniture brands, revealing the "famous
secrets" of the Portuguese Industry.

In the social domain, MENINA DESIGN GROUP has the main purpose to create opportunities for graduates, believing
they can make a difference in Portugal partnering with invaluable Portuguese and International Universities. Among
