Welcome to the 15th edition of Costa Verde's News, at a
time when the days grow longer and the sun, after a harsh
winter, welcomes us with all its magnificence.
In this edition, we shall highlight our participation in the
Ambiente fair and our new product range Saturno Coupe.
Once again, we travel to France to visit the renowned and
centennial Brasserie Chavant and experience all the
French glamour in Lisbon, more precisely in the emblematic Hotel Avenida Palace.
We will also mention the achievement of Social
Responsibility accreditation, as well as the initiatives of
our Scenic Theatre group, among other topics.
Remember, enjoy the good weather, exercise, and take
care of yourself.

Neste inicio da Primavera felizmente solarengo a convidar ao convívio e usufruto dos espaços verdes que felizmente são cada vez mais e melhores em Portugal,
vamos acreditar que também possa ser o inicio duma
Primavera económica e social, para todos nós e para as
empresas, com melhores perspectivas para todos, sobretudo na criação de mais e melhor Emprego, que permita
cada vez mais Portugueses possam sair da dificílima situação em que se encontram e que paralelamente possa estancar a hemorragia da emigração e que esta seja uma
opção e não uma desesperada necessidade para se poder
fazer face á vida.
Na Costa Verde lutamos todos e todos os dias, para
darmos o nosso pequeno contributo para que esta fase da
desesperança Nacional vá dando lugar a uma nova de
algum crescimento económico e sobretudo do Emprego,
sempre duma forma sustentada e sustentável, para que
no futuro não voltemos a ter de passar por uma situação
como a que vivemos.

The sun drenched spring has arrived, inviting us all to
gather and enjoy the green spaces which fortunately are increasing in number and quality in Portugal. We choose to
believe that this can also be the start of an economic and
social spring, for all of us as individuals, but as companies
as well, and provide better prospects for all, especially in
what concerns the creation of more and better jobs, in
order to allow a growing number of nationals to leave the
very harsh financial situation which they are experiencing,
and simultaneously stop the hemorrhage caused by emigration becoming an option and not a desperate need to
be able to cope with life.
At Costa Verde we fight and work each and every single day,
so that we can contribute in a small way, to lessen the national hopelessness and begin to give way to a new phase
of some economic and especially job opportunity growth,
always in a sustained and sustainable manner, so that in
the future we will not have to experience another situation
as the one we are currently living in.
A presença da Costa Verde na feira Ambiente em Fevereiro ficou marcada pela apresentação da nova linha Saturno
Coupe. Esta linha, desenhada pelo Studio Levien, surge como mais uma versão do já conhecido modelo Saturno, desta
feita com perfil coupe. Composta por pratos e saladeiras, a nova linha Saturno Coupe representa um modelo refinado e
puro, refletindo assim uma tendência mais casual e oriental, numa abordagem fine dinning.
Os pratos são a importante base de apresentação desta forma coupe, baixa e elegante, é a opção perfeita para sobressair
a comida.
Hoje o Mundo está mais pequeno, as distancias não são mais uma barreira e somos mais fortemente influenciados por
outras culturas. A nova linha Saturno Coupe transmite um toque do Extremo Oriente para as nossas mesas a propiciar
momentos de alegria e elegância.
The presence of Costa Verde at the Ambiente trade fair last February was highlighted by the presentation of its new product
range: Saturno Coupe. This range, designed by Studio Levien, is a version of the already well-known Saturno product range,
but this variation exhibits a coupe profile.
The Saturno Coupe product range consists of dishes and salad bowls and represents a refined and pure model, which reflects
a more casual and oriental trend in the fine dining approach to porcelain and earthenware products. Dishes are the important presentation basis of this coupe shape, which is low and elegant, and is the perfect option to make food stand out. At
present, the world is getting smaller, distance is no longer an obstacle or a barrier and we are strongly influenced by other
cultures. The new Saturno Coupe product range provides a touch and flair of the Far East to our tables fostering moments of
pleasure and elegance.
Imagine-se na Lisboa de finais do seculo XIX, imagine-se
na inauguração do majestoso Hotel Avenida Palace.
O Hotel Avenida Palace, a quem a Costa Verde tem há
muito o privilegio de fornecer a porcelana, delicadamente decorada a Azul Cobalto e Ouro Alto Fogo, é o
único Hotel Palace no centro da capital portuguesa.
Resultado do projeto do Mestre Jose Luis Monteiro, um
dos mais distintos arquitetos portugueses de todos os
tempos, que igualmente projetou a Estação do Rossio,
este hotel foi inaugurado em 1892, tendo sido considerado um dos melhores hotéis da Europa, atendendo ao
seu glamour, localização e serviço, e onde viveram
grandes vultos e personalidades da nossa historia comum. Ao longo da sua já longa vida tem sido objeto de sucessivas transformações, encontrando-se completa e criativamente remodelado, não tendo sido esquecidas as inovações tecnológicas.

Imagine yourself in the city of Lisbon at the end of the
19th century, and participating in the inauguration of the
majestic Hotel Avenida Palace. The Hotel Avenida Palace,
whom Costa Verde has long been privileged to supply porcelain products, finely decorated in cobalt blue and high fire
gold, is the only Hotel Palace located in the center of the
Portuguese capital. This hotel is the result of a project by
Master José Luís Monteiro, one of the most distinguished
Portuguese architects of all time, who is also responsible
for the design of the Rossio Railway Station. The hotel was
inaugurated in 1892, and was considered one of the finest
European hotels, due to its glamour, location and services
provided, and where great figures and personalities of our
shared history lived. Throughout its now long existence,
the building has been subjected to successive transformations, and is currently completely and creatively remodeled, with all the latest technological innovations.Come
visit this emblematic hotel and relive the end of the 19th
century with all its glamour and grandeur.

Once again we return to France and the gorgeous city of
Grenoble, before the snow melts, to visit the renowned

The Brasserie Chavant opened for business in 1852 and it
is the acknowledgment and tribute to this important entrepreneur family from Grenoble.

Lebeau, the former chef of the prestigious Louis X restaurant. This restaurant is located in the heart of the city of
Grenoble and easily accessible; Brasserie Chavant provides

A Costa Verde recebeu a certificação pela norma de
Responsabilidade Social SA 8000.
A certificação de um Sistema de Gestão da
Responsabilidade Social de acordo com a SA 8000, é
orientada para o incremento da capacidade competitiva
de qualquer organização que voluntariamente garanta a
componente ética do seu processo e ciclo produtivo,
prevendo a adequação à legislação nacional, através do
cumprimento de requisitos associados a trabalho infantil, trabalho forçado, segurança e saúde, liberdade de
associação e direito à negociação coletiva, discriminação, práticas disciplinares, horário de trabalho, remuneração e sistema de gestão.
Esta norma é baseada numa séria de normas internacionais de direitos humanos, incluindo a United Nation's
Universal Declaration of Human Rights e a UN
Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Costa Verde has obtained certification pertaining to the
requisites of the Social Responsibility standard SA 8000.
The certification of a Management System of Social
Responsibility according to the requisites of the standard
SA 8000, is geared towards the increment of the competitive capability of any organization which voluntarily
ensures the ethical component of its process and productive cycle, considering suitability to national legislation,
via the compliance of requisites associated to child labor,
forced labor, safety and health, freedom of association
and right to collective bargaining, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours, wages and management
system.
This standard is based on a series of international human
rights standards, including the United Nation's Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Convention on
the Rights of the Child.

Cénico em ação sociocultural - Em solidariedade com o
Centro de Ação Social do Concelho de Ílhavo (CASCI), no
passado dia 18 de Fevereiro o Cénico, grupo de teatro da
Costa Verde, apresentou no Auditório do Museu Marítimo
de Ílhavo o espetáculo infanto-juvenil “ BZUMM”, tendo
a Bilheteira revertido para esta instituição. A receita
resultante beneficiou infraestruturas.
Na continuidade das preocupações sociais com a comunidade o Grupo Cénico apresentará brevemente outra
sessão no Salão dos Bombeiros Voluntários de Vagos,
cuja bilheteira reverterá para a aquisição de nova
ambulância, para qual estão todos convidados.
Cénico Theater group in a socio-cultural action - Last
February 18th, Costa Verde's theatre group 'Cénico', joined
in solidarity with the Centro de Ação Social do Concelho de
Ílhavo (CASCI) to present at the Auditorium of the
Maritime Museum of Ílhavo, the show “BZUMM” which
was aimed at children and teenagers. The box office
proceeds reverted to the CASCI institution, for much
needed infrastructures. As part of the continuing social
concerns involving the community of our theatre company, the Cénico group shall soon present another session
of this show at the Hall of the Voluntary Firefighters of
Vagos, and the box office proceeds of this show shall revert
to the purchase of a new ambulance. Everyone is invited to
attend this performance.
Hugo Santos encerrou a época de 2013 como o nº1 da
Ordem de Mérito da PGA de Portugal, o circuito profissional português, cujos troféus são concebidos pela Costa
Verde, quer para os jogadores profissionais, quer para os
amadores que disputam o prestigiado Pro-Am Series.
Uma ponta final retumbante levou Hugo Santos, de 33
anos, a superar António Rosado, que em Julho era ainda
o líder da Ordem de Mérito da PGA de Portugal.
A parceria da PGA de Portugal com a Costa Verde tem-se
revelado um sucesso para ambas as entidades e os nossos
jogadores têm sido perfeitos embaixadores da marca, ao
elevarem bem alto os troféus dos torneios em que saem
vencedores. É com satisfação que anunciamos a renovação do acordo para 2014, declarou José Correia, presidente da PGA de Portugal.
Hugo Santos ended the 2013 season as the no. 1 of the
Merit Order of the Portugal PGA, the Portuguese professional circuit, whose trophies are designed and manufactured by Costa Verde, both for the professional players as
well as the amateur players which compete in the prestigious Pro-Am Series. In a resounding final stretch, the 33year old Hugo Santos surpassed António Rosado, who last
July was still the no.1 player of the Merit Order of the
Portugal PGA. The partnership between Portugal PGA and
Costa Verde has proven a success for both organizations,
and our players have been the perfect brand ambassadors,
when they win and hold up high the tournament trophies
at the competitions. Stated José Correia, President of the
Portugal PGA: “It is with great pleasure that we announce
the renewal of our agreement for the 2014 competitions”.
A primavera está aí e como tal, começam-se a planear as
férias. Os excessos alimentares e a vida sedentária foram
os protagonistas no longo inverno e as “marcas” ficaram
bem patentes no corpo.
Nesta época onde os dias começam a ficar cada vez mais
longos e a vontade de fazer exercício e adotar hábitos
saudáveis surgem, é tempo para recuperar.
Indiscutivelmente, as pessoas têm uma vida bem mais
saudável na primavera e no verão. Além de ser mais
agradável fazer exercício físico, sobretudo em espaços
exteriores, também é comum que a alimentação seja
mais leve, com muito mais frutas e saladas à mistura.
Mas nada está perdido: com disciplina, uma alimentação
controlada, exercício diário e mais tempo para dedicar a
si mesmo, conseguirá ficar “no ponto” para o desejado
verão.
Spring has arrived and as such we are all starting to plan
our holidays. Overeating and a sedentary lifestyle were the
key players throughout a very long winter and that has left
obvious “marks” on our bodies.
At this time of the year, as days get longer and the will to
exercise and adopt healthy habits begin to surface, it is
time to recover.
Without a doubt people tend to lead a much healthier
lifestyle in the spring and summer. Besides the fact that it
is a more pleasant time of the year to exercise, especially
outdoors, it is also more common to enjoy «lighter» foods
such as fruit and salads.
But nothing is lost: with discipline, controlled food habits,
daily exercise and more time to devote to oneself, each
and every one of us shall be able to reach “the desired
level” when summer arrives.
