SES-6 C-band coverage
SES-6 Ku-band coverage
As an early replacement of NSS-806, SES-6 will be located at
the 40.5 West orbital location bringing significant capacity
expansion to support channel growth. Its expanded highpower ku-band payload enables DTH platforms and mobility
applications such as aeronautical and maritime across the
Atlantic Ocean. This new satellite will bring an additional 15
C-band and 42 Ku-band transponders (36Mhz equivalent) to
the current configuration of NSS-806, significantly enhancing
our reach amongst the Spanish and Portuguese speaking
populations of the world.
SES-6’single C-band beam will cover the Americas and Europe
facilitating distribution of Spanish and Portuguese programming. The C-band payload will significantly augment the existing capacity allowing expansion at the 40.5W orbital location.
SES-6 C-BAND WILL PROVIDE:
• High power C-band coverage serving small cable
headend dishes throughout Americas and Europe
• Expansion capacity utilising planned C-band frequencies
• Content distribution, contribution and occasional use
• SES sponsored antenna program
As the early replacement for NSS-806, SES-6 will be home to over 185 video
channels and will distribute the programming of the major national broadcasters
in the region, providing the best video satellite option to ensure maximum reach
throughout the Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets.
