SERVIR ALGO MAIOR QUE NÓS
Soldados do 1BIMec/KFOR, e do contingente Húngaro, da KTM/KFOR, bom dia.
Nesta data celebramos a língua portuguesa que, essencialmente disseminada
com os Descobrimentos entre os séculos XV e XVI nos permite, revê-la hoje,
como a língua oficial de oito países, abrangendo um total de 240 milhões de
pessoas. Esta língua comum, que se materializa como uma força motriz de
sinergias diversas,- sociais, culturais, económicas, tecnológicas e outras entre os povos das comunidades e países da língua portuguesa.
Celebramos também nesta ocasião os Portugueses no Mundo, que partilham de
forma contínua com outras povos e culturas, a nossa maneira de ser, e com
ela, os valores de Liberdade, Democracia e Tolerância. São contributos
preciosos
para
o
reforço
da
interação
entre
povos,
e
organizações
internacionais de que fazemos parte.
Aqui no TO do KOSOVO, e para além da língua portuguesa, pretendemos de
forma simbólica, através da presença de representantes diplomáticos de
diferentes países, militares da KFOR/NATO, EULEX/EU, instituições do Kosovo,
relevar a importância da interação convergente, de “mentes e corações” entre
estas organizações internacionais: EU e NATO; testemunho da importância do
espaço comum transatlântico, iniciado no passado, ativo no presente,
observado em prospetiva como essencial, desejavelmente reforçado, no futuro
próximo.
Desejamos que este dia, através da exposição, gentilmente oferecida pelo
Instituto de Camões, da confraternização e gastronomia preparadas, concorram
para um sempre desejado estreitar de laços, e também por isso, como um
modesto contributo para o vencer de novos desafios que se nos deparam, no
âmbito das Organizações internacionais que Servimos: A União Europeia e a
NATO.

TO SERVE, SOMETHING BIGGER THAN OURSELVES
Good morning, Soldiers of the 1st Mech Bn/KFOR, and Hungarian Battalion,
from KTM/KFOR.
Today we celebrate the Portuguese language which has been spread around
the world during the Discoveries in the XV and XVI century. Today, there are
240 million people in 08 countries speaking the Portuguese language.
We also address in this day, the Portuguese community around the world, and
their efforts to share our culture, and the precious principals of Freedom,
Democracy and Tolerance. Those principals who should represent the main
pillars for the development of synergies among different cultures, countries and
International Organizations such as: UN, NATO e UE.
Here in KOSOVO, and beyond the celebration of Portuguese language, in a
symbolic away, and with the presence of countries representatives, coming
from different organizations, mainly NATO and EU, we emphasize the
importance of the existing and developing convergent interaction of the “hearts
and minds” among the NATO and European Union; evidence of the
Transatlantic bridge, started in the past, present in today´s and perceived as
essential for the near future.
We desire and wish that all entities do enjoy the exposition - kindly offered by
Camões Institute -, the gastronomic pleasures available, as a support to the
friendship, and values that we share, as a humble contribution to reinforce the
Transatlantic bridge – NATO, EU and other countries; foreseen as the required
Competitive Advantage to win the challenges ahead.
