Em 1990, o casal de missionários norteamericanos John e Trudy White trouxe para
o Brasil o Lar WinShape, que, nos Estados
Unidos ajudou a transformar a vida de
inúmeras crianças carentes dos estados de
Geórgia, Tennessee e Alabama. Com
ambiente familiar e foco na assistência sócioeducativa, a casa está provocando uma
verdadeira revolução na vida de um grupo
de crianças de 7 a 18 anos nascidas na área
rural de Cidade Ocidental, interior de Goiás.
Sustainable help to the
Young
In 1990, the North-American missionary
couple John and Trudy White brought the
WinShape Home to Brazil, which, in the U.S.,
had helped to transform the life of countless
necessitous children from Georgia,
Tennessee, and Alabama. With its family like
environment and its focus on social and
educational care, the home has triggered a
real revolution in the life of a group of
children aged from 7 to 18 years who were
born in the rural area of Cidade Oriental, in
the countryside of Goiás.

O gerente administrativo do projeto, André Gustavo
Kruklis, informa que a maioria das crianças é de família
carente ou órfã de pelo menos um dos pais. Ele explica
que elas recebem acompanhamento desde o ingresso no
Lar até chegarem à formação técnico-superior e inserção
no mercado de trabalho.
Projeto auto-sustentável - O modelo de
financiamento do projeto é pioneiro. Com a criação de
gado em um sistema auto-sustentável e seu retorno
financeiro, a Fazenda Água Grande gera alimento para
suas crianças e finanças para dar continuidade ao amparo
dos acolhidos.
Hoje, nos pastos da propriedade, 52 animais da raça
Simental e Simbrasil são criados em regime de pasto e
suplementação à base de silagem e núcleo mineral.
Participante ativa dos principais núcleos de criadores e
exposições, em Brasília (DF) e em Goiás, o Lar WinShape
representa o município de Cidade Ocidental com mérito,
conquistando, inclusive, diversos prêmios que abriram
mercado para seus animais. Além da comercialização de
animais, o Lar se mantém por doações de empresas e
autônomos, renda que garante a continuidade do projeto.
Projeto 3C - 2004 marcou a expansão da Fundação
WinShape. Após levantamento feito nos municípios
goianos de Valparaíso e Luziânia, foi constatada a
existência de 10 instituições filantrópicas que vivem de
doações e do voluntariado local, sendo responsáveis por
450 crianças e jovens carentes.
Para apoiar essas instituições, o Lar WinShape criou o
Projeto 3C – Cooperando para Cuidar de Crianças. Com o
propósito inicial de doar carne bovina, ajuda no
fornecimento de fonte de proteína animal segura às
crianças que vivem em outros lares. O abate é feito no
frigorífico local, que não cobra pelo serviço, e a distribuição
tem ajuda de colaboradores. Segundo André Kruklis, até

a poor family or are half-orphans. He explains that
they get coached from the moment they join the Home
to their technical or upper education and insertion
into the market.
Self-sustainable Project - The financing model
of the project is sheer pioneer work. A self-sustained
cattle breeding project and its financial return help
the Água Grande Farm to feed its children and to
finance its social work projects.
Today, the farm hosts 52 Simmental and Simbrasil
animals which are fed with pasture and a silage/mineral
supplement. An active participant in the main breeder
associations and shows in Brasilia (DF) and Goiás,
the WinShape Home duly represents the city of Cidade
Oriental and has even won several awards that have
opened the market to their cattle. In addition to selling
its animals, the Home sustains itself by means of
donations made by companies and private persons, a
revenue that assures the continuity of the project.
The 3C Project - 2004 has marked the expansion
of the WinShape Foundation. A survey made in
Valparaíso e Luziânia, both of them cities in the State
of Goiás, has spotted another 10 philanthropic
institutions that live on donations and local voluntary
work; these are responsible for 450 deprived children
and young people.
To support those institutions, the WinShape Home has
set up the 3C Project – Cooperating to Care for
Children – whose initial aim was to donate beef to
supply the children living in other homes with a safe
source of animal protein. Slaughter is offered for free
by the local slaughterhouse and the meat is distributed
by voluntary workers. According to André Kruklis, 4.5t
of meet had been distributed by the end of 2006 to feed
the children.

alimentação destas crianças.
Diante dessa realidade, membros da WinShape resolveram
ampliar suas ações com a abertura de canais de comunicação
entre governo, empresas e membros da sociedade. “A
distribuição da carne foi fundamental para ter conhecimento
das reais condições dessas instituições”, destaca André,
sinalizando para a importância da cooperação, assistência e,
principalmente, continuidade nas ações de fundo solidário.
A idéia do Projeto 3C, além de suprir parte da carência
nutricional de centenas de crianças assistidas nas instituições
beneficentes, consegue também doações e apoio voluntário
de empresas, igrejas e profissionais liberais. Por meio do
projeto, a WinShape já doou máquinas de lavar roupas,

In addition to partially meet the nutritional needs of
hundreds of children supported by benevolent
institutions, the 3C Project also gets donations and
voluntary support from companies, churches, and
freelancers. WinShape’s project has even already given
away washers, cloths, and remedies.

Colhendo frutos - Esse trabalho do Lar WinShape colhe
muitos frutos. Todas as dificuldades não impediram, por
exemplo, que Eliane, entre as primeiras crianças acolhidas pelo
Lar, se graduasse em nutrição no fim de 2006. Sua irmã, Juliana,
estuda hoje fisioterapia. André lembra da primeira aluna,
Andréia, que terminou o programa em 2001, depois de se formar
em auxiliar de enfermagem. A carreira de enfermagem também
foi seguida por Raisa, outra formanda.
Outro jovem acompanhado pelo projeto é Fernando, que hoje
estuda Engenharia Eletrônica. “Vemos o quanto é importante
dar oportunidade a essas vidas e o quanto isso se reflete em
benefícios ao convívio social. Uma vida apenas parece pouco,
mas quando olhamos o impacto que causa no ambiente familiar,
na escola, na igreja, na cidade, na sociedade, é fantástico”,
explica André. “Queremos formar pessoas para uma sociedade
melhor, com qualidade de vida e que possam transmitir essas
ações para outras pessoas”.

Reaping the benefits - WinShape Home’s work has
reaped many benefits. For instance, Eliane, one of the
first children admitted at the Home, has graduated in
nutritional sciences at the end of 2006, in spite of all the
difficulties she met. Her sister, Juliana, is currently
studying physiotherapy. André remembers the first
student, Andréia, who completed the program in 2001,
by becoming a nurse assistant. Raisa, another graduate,
too, chose the nursing career.
Another young who is taken care of by the project is
Fernando, who currently studies Electronic
Engineering. “We see how important it is to provide those
lives with opportunities and how it reflects in benefits
for the society. A single life seems to be so insignificant,
but when we analyze its impact on its family environment,
school, church, the city, and on society, its fantastic”,
states André. “We aim at educating people for a better
society, to give quality to their lives, so that they may
transmit those actions to others.”
