Using the system
Textus is a web system developed in order to provide the user with quick access to texts written by students in
a school environment using different criteria for text classification.
Guide goal
The guide goal is to describe in detail the features of the Textus search system and to assist the user.

Access to the system
Access the system at the address http://www.convenios.grupogbd.com/redacoes
using your email and password.

Once the information has been properly filled out, the user will have access to the Textus
system by clicking on

The system has an informative home screen about the organization of the system and
the text database.

Writings (Redações)
The section Writings (“Redações”) of the Textus System allows you to manage writing
proposals and texts produced by students.
The options “Writings” (Redações) allow the system user to search for texts stored in the system.

SEARCHING TEXTS
In order to search a text in the system, click the option “Search writings” (Buscar
Redações) at the “Writings” (Redações) section on the site header.

The “Search Writings” section provides a filter area followed by a list of stored writings. The
system’s filter parameters for writings are the student identifiers: gender; school; year; grade;
class; genre; file; sample.
IMPORTANT
The parameters “school, year, grade and class” are linked, so all of them should be selected for the
system to perform the search.
For the option “student identification”, the user should have the student code which has been
accessed in the previous access to the site
For the option “file”, the user should have the required code of the writing, such as:
Z08_6A_03M_02, which gives the name to the DOC or JPEG writing file.
The option “sample” selects students who have at least one text per year from 2008 to 2011.
In "Search Writings" (Buscar Redações), a filter area is displayed followed by an area with
the list of registered texts.

You can apply a filter to search for texts, filling in the "Search" (Busca) area and then
clicking

In the list of texts already registered, you can click "Download" and have access to the
student’s text in two formats: PDF or DOC.
To search for a particular text, click
to select the preferred filter (Proposal [Proposta] or
Grades [Series]), type the item to be filtered and press the ENTER key on your keyboard.

Reports (Relatórios)
In the “Reports” (Relatórios) section you can generate quantitative and descriptive reports.
In the Textus System, general reports, with all registered information and unfiltered, can
be generated to cover the following information: the amount of texts produced per year
("Writings per year" [Redações por Ano]), the number of texts per student ("Number of
Writings" [Quantidade de Redações]) and their identification, and the amount of texts for
each proposal ("Proposal List" [Lista de Propostas]) and their specification. You can also use
filters to refine the results shown in the report, in the item "Advanced Options " (Opções
Avançadas).

LIST OF WRITING PROPOSALS
To generate the report, just click on "Proposal List" (Lista de Propostas) in the "Reports"
(Relatórios) section on the site header. The report "Proposal List" (Lista de Propostas)
includes the number of texts written in each of the proposals, separated by year, grade, class
and school. In addition to the texts registered in the system, it shows the code of each one
in a chart grouped by proposal, year, grade, class and school.

NUMBER OF TEXTS IN THE DATABASE
To generate a quantitative report, just select "Number of Writings" (Quantidade de
Redações) in the "Reports" (Relatórios) section on the site header. The report "Number of
Writings" (Quantidade de Redações) contains the number of students who have written a
certain amount of texts, classified by gender. In addition , the report includes all students
who have produced one or more texts and the corresponding text code.

To generate the report, just select “Writings per year” (Redações por Ano) in the "Reports"
(Relatórios) section on the site header. The report "Writings per year" (Redações por Ano)
shows the amount of texts written by the students per year on the chart and the graph.

ADVANCED OPTIONS
To generate reports of "Number of writings” (Quantidade de Redações), “Proposal List” (Lista de
Propostas) and “Writings per year" (Redações por Ano) using filters, select the "Advanced Options”
(Opções Avançadas) option in the "Reports" (Relatórios) section on the site header.

System users can modify their data through the menu “My Account” (Minha Conta).
In the Textus system, you can edit the user registration data. In order to access the registration
data for possible editing, click the user name at the top right of the system and “My Account”
(Minha Conta).
