Note from the publisher
To edit an art book with international professional artists has been a great
challenge and has required giving full attention to all participants. Therefore
it was necessary to be in dialogue with everyone and get approval from everyone as the presentation was such that they wanted. As many of the artists only
speak Portuguese, it was the leader of the association, Jiselda Salbu who did
this work. However all artists supplied their text and CV translated to English
language. During several months of work, we received photos of the artworks
and pages with text that artists wanted to have in the book.
Once the book is finished, we are proud of the result, perhaps not so much of the work we have done, but of
all the wonderful artworks that are presented and all CV‘s of the professional artists who are now members
of the organization.
Artcom Expo International Association of Artists will do its utmost to promote this magnificent works.
This is the foremost desire of the leader of the association, Jiselda Aparecida Salbu who do not consider the
work completed when the book is released, but will continue by means of this tool and others, to make the
participants more known and famous across borders and continents. She has 15 years experience in this
work from Latin America and Europe. (www.brasilartist.no)
This is the first book by the association to be launched in Europe in English language, and she believes that
in the same way that she has promoted artists in Latin America, she will work hard to bring the artists to
light their lights in Europe by means of the association, which now has more than 120 members from 14
different countries and a website that has had about 80 000 visits in six months at the end of May 2014.
We would like to thank all the wonderful artists who have participated in this the book,
and also we would like to thank all those who have supported the association in many ways since 2012.
The Association will strive to conquer new barriers on behalf of all those who participated.
On behalf of

Hans A. Salbu
It is a privilege to Artcom Expo International Association of Artists to present - Artists Across Continents - at
the XII International Arts and Cultural exchange VIII
Awarded salon.
I have been acting on behalf of culture since 2012 0704- as Director and Coordinator and representative
forNorway and Latin America in good partnership with
the cultural division of the Brazilian Embassy in Oslo.
As a Brazilian and Norwegian citizen I feel honored
of beeing able to influence and promote a good relationship between human beings through art. As a curator
and organizator of culture-event for 14 years, I am
proud to have been able to undertake another avantguard project in Europe.
For me painting and literature always walked together.
Since the beginning of my artistic activities I dreamed of
making art a platform for awareness and recognition of
young artists, sculptors, potters, artisans in general, writers and poets, musicians and singers. Making a platform
of art for everyone in the quest to understand life and making a better future, by giving them the opportunity to
be recognized and valued for their work.
Since the beginning of my work I always tried to get a deeper insight in the development of international art,
figurative or abstract, and tried to explore new spatial and structural possibilities of form and image in the twentieth century.
Reflecting on the art - especially modern and contemporary these last centuries, can become an excessively complex exercise, so also the analysis of the artists and their works. Such a difficulty, in which succumb even the best
critics, given the mosaic of concepts and the variety of opinions that can confuse more than to find the parameters to understand what is, or is not art, as well as being an artist..
Modernism is, of all arts, a style, a language, a code, a system of signs with rules and units of meaning, implying
a worldview. Being modern, therefore, is to be in a time and space that promises adventure, power and growth,
joy, transformation of yourself and the world around you.
My intention today anyway, is mainly to use my forces and my experience in dissemination of art between Latin
America, Europe and Scandinavia, a new horizon for the dissemination of works by artists and sculptors of talent in these countries.
This exhibition in this excellent place in Oslo, at the Brazilian Embassy, during the Brazilian Cultural Week in
Norway, is a dream came true for me, especially because Norway is my second homeland, which received me
with open arms, giving me the oportunity to transforme my dreams into reality.
As Coordinator and Director of Expo Artcom International Association of Artists, I want to thank the support
and wonderful help from everyone who worked on this project: The Embassy of Brazil in Oslo, the president of
the association Hans Arnt Salbu, and especially the artists living in other countries as: Brazil, Dubay, Italy, London, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

Biography
Antonisia Schroder is an established and highly qualified artist, photographer and writer
mostly working in London, UK, but having also exhibited elsewhere in Europe and South
America.
Born in the beautiful north-east of Brazil but of Portuguese and German heritage, Antonisia’s
appreciation of beauty, multiculturalism and great art was nurtured from a young age and
it was only a matter of time before her appreciation of her surroundings was also captured
through her lens.
Although photography was her first love and her main artistic outlet, she is a keen artist in the
wider sense of the word and has done groundbreaking work in developing her own styles of
‘paintography’ and montage.
She lived in many areas of South America in her childhood, giving her a taste for travel, which
she took into her teenage and adult years. She has lived in Europe for more than 20 years, and
has settled in England.
She has achieved a National Diploma and Award in Photography and then attended the
University of East London to gain a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Photography. She is
currently undertaking a Master’s Degree which she will complete later this year. This has helped her to develop an even keener sense
of the important connections between art and literature and how each can inform the other. Her time at university encouraged her to
begin writing books and this has brought her great success and enabled her to bring a new type of art to viewers which invites them
into a magical, almost fantasy, multimedia world.
She uses many inspirations to create her work, but has a particular love of the fairytale and likes to use fairytale principles at the
centre of her creative pieces. She has, in addition, now published several fairytale-based books.
Her other books include examinations of English culture (based around war remembrance and the 2012 Diamond Jubilee), books
examining the connections between psychology and art, alongside touching emotional projects such as ‘Million Dollar Heart’.
Her next exhibition will be in east London at the end of August 2014, which will involve her exhibiting ‘Walking in my Garden’, a
project focusing on the connection between our fantasies and dreams and on how the
English culture has an almost dreamlike obsession with its gardens.
She has been running exhibitions over most of the last decade, but recent exhibitions
have included two concurrent shows in Barnet, north London, at the end of 2013
which showcased some of her best and most creative work from the last three years.
She was also one of the founding artists of the Thurrock Art Trail, part of the Essex
Summer of Art, and was the first artist to run a solo exhibition at the new £3million
Southend Pier Cultural Centre in October 2012.
She was shortlisted for the Brazilian Press Awards in 2013, the award ceremony
which awards the brightest young Brazilian talents in the creative industries across
the world.
Her plans for the future include a proposed exhibition in Fortaleza, Brazil, in 2015,
and further additions to her series of fairytale books.

In 2006 I was admitted membership in NFUK (the Norwegian
Society of Independent Artists)
I work with different media, mostly with oil- and acrylic paint,
but I have also worked with pastel and mixed media.
My work is figurative. I do classic oil painting.
The nature is my biggest inspiration and I try to catch the
different changes of light in the landscape. My motives are usually from the sea or up in the mountains and I have
a big fascination to the various weather condition, the dramatic waves and sky formations. I like to change between the different seasons, from the first sigh of spring, to sparkling colors in the fall and further to stormy winter
weather. I have participated in many exhibitions in various galleries in Norway since 1999, both solo exhibitions
and as a representative.

1947. She has been living at Sotra, near Bergen from 1979.
Since she was a little girl she has loved to be drawing and her
youth dreams was to get an art education, her dreams did not
come true, but painting has been her hobby for more than 30
years.
When she moved to Sotra, she becomes a member of Fjell Kunstforum, a local Art union. All these years she has taken courses
in several painting techniques under different teachers. The first
years she was painting with Jarl Hugo Låstad in traditional oil
technique in naturalistic style, and after that Eduard Ibanez. She
has also taken some courses in water color painting, and one of
them was Aud Rye.
The two last years she has been educated in abstract painting by
Maria Frantzen, and that has given her a new start and inspiration. The pallet has been more colorful, and the pictures more
temperamental.
Every year she has been participated in two
or three collective exhibitions, mostly by
Fjell Kunstforum, but also several times with
Kiwanis arts exhibitions.

Artist: Vera Russi Mattar, Brazil
The Impressionism of Vera Russi Mattar is inspired by nature
through light, that plays in hide and reveal the colors .On one of
her trips to Europe ,she fell in love with Monet’s garden in Giverny
about 70 km from Paris. The themes addressed in her works are part
of everyday life , which creates idealized environments involving
all that surrounds it : children , animals , plants , and any object
that completes a scenario of peace and harmony .
In her canvases Vera wants to show usa harmonious ,peaceful
,family life. She wants to show us heaven ...which exists within
each one but that the modern technologies and everyday life insist
on hiding.
Enchanted by Impressionist style used by Monet ,Renoir and others ,she uses the same loose brushwork in her paintings used by
precursors of modernism . Day by day has been improving herself
in the technique of Impressionism .Vera creates a relationship of
complicity, emotion and art in every screen created .
Descending of Italians , she was born in Itajai , south of Brazil and now lives in Joinville ,south of Brazil as
well Graduated in Stylism and Interior Design , she
found in the Plastics Arts her preferred hobby .Got
married in 1979 she had two sons, a girl and a boy
and today ,became grandmother of a beautiful girl
.
According to the
artist , art is not a profession , it is a state of mind , a way
of seeing the world. With her feminine sensibility, she
presents a work that demonstrates a strong personality
and at the same time sensitive. Vera is said to be an accomplished woman and has three passions : family , art
, and experience of different cultures . “Before I start a
painting, I seek inspiration in anything that serves as a
gateway to a world of sensitivity . Like the colors and
the sunshine focusing on objects
Color is what challenges me.

Artist:Valquiria Guillemin Imperiano,
Valquiria was born in Brazil. She first saw the light of day in 1953 in a small
coastal town in the northeast of the country, called João Pessoa.
Eldest daughter of a large family, she spent all her childhood and adolescence in this region where the landscapes are filled with beauty.
Was it the intensity of the light or the lovely sea which was her first source
of inspiration? Whichever it was, she felt the need to capture these images
from her earliest years; on paper first, and then on canvas, she painted the
landscapes she loved.
Her natural aptitude and her regular and assiduous work allowed her to progress quickly and improve her art. True to a figurative style, she gradually
moved away from trying to create exact reproductions of landscapes, and instead introduced a wider concept to
her art to communicate her emotions. Her extrovert, optimistic and cheerful mood are reflected within her paintings, which consist of an audacious mix of vivid colours and spontaneous strokes applied on to canvas with oil
and acrylic paints.
During her university studies, which led her to obtain a degree in Portuguese, she opened her eyes wider to
literature. Since then she has expanded her professional practice to also include writing poetry, essays and short
stories, enabling her to transfer what she felt in her soul onto paper. At first she kept these in a drawer while she
continued with her passion for painting. Now she has opened that drawer and her written work has started to
become known and get published.
With a keen sense of observation, Valquiria Imperiano is able
to incorporate all the most important creative elements into her
art, giving colour and force to the subjects of her work. Her
paintings and writings have a great complexity, greater than it
appears at first glance, which enables the viewer to enjoy and
interpret more and differently in accordance with their mood.
In Switzerland since 1997, where she lives and is a naturalised
citizen, she regularly participates in exhibitions. Her sculptures, which represent human bodies, are made with plaster,
resin, bronze and terracotta and have met with critical acclaim.
She has held or contributed to art exhibitions in Europe and
Brazil. She is a member of Rebra (Network of Brazilian Writers) and is an academic of the Academy of Arts of Fortaleza.
She has published texts in several anthologies: A Thousand
Poems for Gonçalves Dias, Revenge 2, The 4th Poetic Anthology of PASC, Poetic Costumes, We Are Brazilian poems and
tales, The 4th Anthology Clothesline, (Lindas Lendas Brsileiras) Beautiful Legends Brazilian and the To be a Brazilian
Anthology. She will exhibit at a show being organized by the
