The program is about how to recognize the signs of abuse in children. Because of regulations and mandates from the Archdiocese, failure to complete the CORI form will result in not being able to perform your ministry. Abuse can affect virtually anyone from all walks of life, including men, women, children, and seniors. Whether you’re the abused, the abuser, or a concerned friend or family member, it’s important to know that there is help available. Abuse often escalates from threats and verbal abuse to violence. While physical injury may be the most obvious danger, the emotional and psychological consequences of abuse are also severe. Emotionally abusive relationships can destroy your self-worth, lead to anxiety and depression, and make you feel helpless and alone. No one should have to endure this kind of pain---and your first step to breaking free is recognizing that your situation is abusive. Once you acknowledge the reality of the abusive situation, then you can get the help you need. tĞǁŝůůƉƌŽǀŝĚĞďĞǀĞƌĂŐĞƐ͗ ŽĨĨĞĞ͕ƚĞĂ͕ǁĂƚĞƌĂŶĚĐŽůĚĚƌŝŶŬƐ ŽƐƚĨŽƌƚŚĞĚĂLJŝƐΨϱ͘ϬϬ dŽƌĞŐŝƐƚĞƌĐŽŶƚĂĐƚ ĂƌŵĞŶ'ŝŽŵďĞƚƚŝĂƚĐŐŝŽŵďĞƚƚŝΛƐƚŵŝŬĞƐ͘ŽƌŐ ϵϳϴϱϲϮͲϮϱϱϮdžϯϭϬ There are numerous websites and helplines to assist those victims of abuse. ONE SUNDAY FOR THE WHOLE WORLD Next Sunday, Pope Benedict XVI calls every Catholic in the world to celebrate our vocation to be missionary. It's World Mission Sunday! As Catholics around the world--here at home and in the Missions--gather at the Eucharist around the table of the Lord, we are to pray for the Church's worldwide missionary work. We pray for those awaiting the "Good News" of our Lord's great love for us and for the missionaries who offer the poor and suffering the light of Christ. And we are to offer financial help through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith for more than 1,150 dioceses in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands. Sunday Throughout the Week: SHARING THE GOSPEL The man in today's Gospel reading thought he was pretty good. He had been careful to obey most of God's rules. But he forgot the most important rule of all-love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. When Jesus asked the man to give away all he owned, the man went away sad. He loved money more than he loved God. PRAYER Dear God, help me to love you more than all the gifts you have given to me. MISSION FOR THE WEEK Make a list of things that are special to you. If God asked you to give away your favorite toy or game to someone who's poor, could you do it? Be honest with God, and ask him to help you love him more than anything. ©2008 - PO Box 510817, New Berlin, WI 53151-0817 - 1-800-950-9952 x2469 LPiResourceCenter.com 5 “Serving fellow parishiners with their real estate needs.” Danny Resendes Broker/Owner, ABR, LMC, Realtor, CDPE Falo Português 978.568.0081 [email protected] www.Ardentrb.com S&F Concrete Contractors, Inc. 978-562-3495 LOUIS MONTI & SONS, INC.
