Green Coast São Paulo/Paraty/Angra do Reis/Rio de Janeiro Dia 1 - SÃO PAULO Arrival in São Paulo and transfer (PVT) to Bourbon Convention Ibirapuera. Rest of the day free for leisure and rest. Dia 2 - SÃO PAULO / PARATY After breakfast, Half Day city tour (PVT) in São Paulo to visit the main tourist attractions of the city. On the tour through the city you will pass the residential area of Higienópolis with its modern apartment-buildings, the Pacaembu soccer stadium, the medicine school, the Hospital das Clinicas, the university campus with its various departments. A stop will be made at the Butantã snake farm, a world known institution where snakes are kept for poison extraction, which later is used as antidote against snake bites and tropical disease. At the Morumbi area, we’ll pass by the state government Palace Morumbi, and soccer stadium of São Paulo, as well as the residential area of Europe Garden. One of the highlight’s of the tour is the Ibirapuera Park with beautiful gardens and lakes, with the famous monument of the Bandeirantes by Victor Brecheret. Inside the park is the monument of the constitutionalist soldier, a mausoleum in memory of those republicans who fell in 1932 revolution. There is also the city hall, the planetarium and the Bienal, where exhibitions of international art can be seen the whole year. You will pass also by Praça da Republica, Itália building, Praça Roosevelt and Paulista Avenue. After lunch, departure towards the city of Paraty (397 Km from São Paulo) - Private transfer (only driver) Arrival in Paraty and accommodation at Pousada Porto Imperial. Day free to rest and leisure. Paraty is a beach colonial town classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1966, with five streets running parallel to the ocean intersected by four streets cutting across then at right angles, the old center of Parati reflects the town's colonial past prosperity reflected in its beautiful old homes and churches. Paraty is also named " a paradise on earth" by many poets , referring to steep, jungled mountains that seem to leap into the sea, a scrambled shoreline with hundreds of islands and peninsulas, and the clear warm waters of the Baia da Ilha Grande, as calm as an empty aquarium. Perfect for diving and fishing. Dia 3 - PARATY After breakfast, departure on a Schooner tour ( regular tour ) visiting beautiful beaches and islands. Afternoon arrival at the Pousada. Overnight. Dia 4 - PARATY / ANGRA DOS REIS After breakfast, tranefer (only driver) to Angra dos Reis, arrival and accommodation at Portobello Resort & Safari. Day free. Dinner at Hotel. Overnight. Overnight. Dia 7 - RIO DE JANEIRO Breakfast and departure to a Half Day tour to Sugar Loaf (4 hs). This tour begins with a city panoramic view through downtown Rio, passing by the Sambodrome, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. By taking the Aterro do Flamengo, you will be taken to the neighborhood of Urca where it is located one of the largest symbols of the city: the Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high and from where one can have a beautiful view from the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will be taken up to the top with 395 meters to find a splendid view from Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niterói. Dia 8 - RIO DE JANEIRO Breakfast and Half Day Corcovado (4hs). From any place of the city, the visitor can see the most beautiful postcard of Rio de Janeiro: Christ the Redeemer statue in the mountain of Corcovado, located at 710 meters above the sea level and inaugurated in 1931. This tour begins in Cosme Velho's neighborhood from where the cog train starts a trip through the Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world, up to the statue. Once there, a panoramic and extraordinary view of Rio will be seeing including the Sugar Loaf, the Guanabara Bay, the beaches of Southern Zone and the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon. After the visit of the Corcovado, the tour will continue to São Conrado area with a brief stop at the Pepino beach from where you can appreciate the flight of the hang gliding. Dia 9 - RIO DE JANEIRO Breakfast and Rio Ancient City with Santa Teresa visit and lunch at Confeitaria Colombo . This walking tour includes a visit to many interesting points, such as the São Bento Monastery, Candelaria (the candlemakers), Praça XV, the "Travessa do Mercado", Imperial Palace, the cultural centre located in the beautifully-restored Banco do Brasil, the Casa França-Brasil, Ouvidor (the listeners) Street and Gonçalves Dias Street with the traditional Colombo Coffee Shop. The walk continues on down Uruguaiana Street, Carioca Square up to the Metropolitan Cathedral where passengers will meet the transportation that will take them for lunch at Colombo Restaurant. After lunch, they will go for a visit to Sta. Teresa, a traditional district with a mild climate and big houses from the beginning of the century, built mainly by English railroad managers.
