He worked in the Citibank (1973-1992) assuming positions from Manager to Vice-President. Annuar Ali also worked as Vice-President and Advisor in the CAOA Group (1992-2004), acting mainly in the planning and development of the following brands in Brazil: Renault, Subaru and Hyundai. Alexandre Salem Szklo Professor at the Energy Planning Program Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Alexandre Salem Szklo is associate professor at the Program of Energy Planning of the COPPE/UFRJ. He holds a doctorate from the COPPE/UFRJ and is a trained chemical engineer from the Chemical School of the UFRJ. As writer of countless books and papers in scientific journals, he is advisor in doctoral dissertations and master’s thesis in the themes of energy efficiency, energy matrix, cogeneration, biofuels, oil refining, oil market and chemistry. He is reviewer of indexed scientific journals in the fields of energy, environment and chemical engineering. During the last five years he won twice the Giulio Massarani Award of Academic Worthiness, granted from the Luiz Alberto Coimbra Institute of Post-Graduation and Research in Engineering (COPPE/UFRJ) to its professors. He was also awarded in 2013, 2014 and 2015 with the Vale-CAPES award of advisor in dissertations or thesis in the field of engineering, with themes in global climate changes. Alexandre was part of the Nucleus of Assessors in Technology and Innovation (Nati) of CNPq, with a mandate of three years, relative to the period from November 1st, 2011 to December 31st, 2014. Celso Eduardo Lins de Oliveira Associate Professor at the Food Engineering Department University of São Paulo Celso Eduardo Lins de Oliveira has graduated in Agricultural Engineering at the Federal University of Viçosa (1992), holds a master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering (rural electrification) from the Federal University of Viçosa (1995), a doctorate in Agronomy (energy efficiency) from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2001) and a Livre Docente rank (Rural Electrification) at UNICAMP (2011). Currently he is an associate professor at the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the fields of Renewable Sources and Energy Efficiency, with emphasis in Energy in Agriculture, acting mainly in the following themes: high temperature solar energy, energy efficiency, rural electrification, energy consumption and climate control. He is member of the Iberoamerican Energy Network (REDIENE) and of the Energía Solar Térmica de Concentración para Iberoamérica (ESTCI – CYTED) network. Christian Zahler, Dipl.-Phys. Managing Director Industrial Solar GmbH Christian Zahler is co-founder and managing director at Industrial Solar GmbH. He is working in the field of solar thermal technologies for about 25 years. He started his “solar career” at the Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg. Later he moved on to work at research institutes in Portugal and Norway. In 1999 he returned to Freiburg and joined PSE AG, where he was responsible for the solar thermal department. Since 2009 he and Tobias Schwind are jointly leading Industrial Solar. Claudio Braz worked as a Businessman in the field of Automation always connected to German companies and applying new technologies (1980-2010. He is the CEO of Grenzebach from Brazil since 2011. Edson Bazzo Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department Federal University of Santa Catarina – UFSC Edson Bazzo has graduated in Mechanical Engineering and holds a master’s degree and a doctorate also in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, studying partially at the IKE (Institute of Nuclear Technology and Energy Systems) at the University of Stuttgart. Currently he is full professor and head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He coordinate R&D projects in the energy field working in topics related to capillary pumping systems, thermoelectric generation, hydroelectric generation, CSP, cogeneration, coal, natural gas, biomass and others renewable energy sources. Eduardo Soriano Lousada Coordinator of Technology, Innovation and Energy Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Eduardo Soriano Lousada is an electric engineer specialized in control and automation of processes and holds a master’s degree in political sciences. He works in the field of science, development and innovation for over 30 years. He worked in the private and public sectors with focus on the industry, engineering, technology promotion and knowledge management. In 2002, Soriano took on the position as assessor of Science and Technology at the MCTI, where he currently acts as general coordinator of Technology, Innovation and Energy. Gerwin Rudolf Osenjak Superintendent Director Konus Icesa S.A Gerwin Rudolf Osenjak has graduated in Economic Engineering at the Upper School from Kapfenberg, Austria. He holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management and an MBA in Projects Management from the FGV-RJ, Brazil. He has worked during nine years in Austria, installing water heating systems and solar energy systems. Since 2000 he works at the company Konus Icesa S.A., Brazil, specialized on manufacturing steel equipment and thermal energy generation. He has wide knowledge and experience in technical and administrative management in the industrial field (warehouse, production planning and control, manufacturing, assembling, maintenance and quality). In addition, he has experience in contracting and technical partnerships with international companies, importation of technology for manufacturing of equipment and systems in Brazil. Currently he is superintendent director at Konus Icesa S.A.. Johannes Tobias Schrüfer Consultant in Solar Power Systems IATech GmbH The Eng. Johannes Tobias Schrüfer, born in 10/07/1981 in Bamberg, Germany, studied Industrial Engineering at the Technical University of Ilmenau, Germany, and at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. The technical focus in his studies was the energy technology; the economic focus was corporative governance oriented to market and business on new companies. After several internships in the industry, on the years 2005-2006, including research for the BMW Group in the field of hydrogen based unities, the Eng. Schrüfer worked for the first time in the CSP technology field. In his degree thesis from the German company of plant installation, Kraftanlagen München GmbH, he handled the subject of economic efficiency of a cycle hybrid CSP tower at a site in Algeria. In 2009 he started to work at the German company IA Tech GmbH implementing a viability study as an engineer from the project “AlSol” in Algeria. “AlSol” in a capacities development project related to the construction of a CSP pilot plant and a Formation Center in the CSP technology field. Up to now, besides his focus on CSP technology, the Eng. Scrüfer has been working as a consultant and analyst in the field of photovoltaic energy and hybrid solar energy plants. In the last two years, Eng. Schrüfer coordinated for the IA Tech GmbH, in the name of GIZ, the implementation of a potential study to integrate the CSP technology in the Brazilian industries for process heat supply. José Carlos de Miranda Farias President CHESF José Carlos de Miranda Farias holds a bachelor degree in Electric Engineering from the UFPE, he holds a post-graduation degree from UFRJ and a MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation. He is a Chesf Engineer since 1976 and has occupied several management positions, including the Superintendency of Planning and Expansion and the Superintendency of Trade and Energy. Since 2005, he acted as director of Electric Energy Studies from the Brazilian Energy Research Company (EPE). José Carlos has taken part in several Technical Commitees and Work Groups relevant to the development of the electric sector since 1992, i.e. The Committee of Monitoring of the Electric Sector – CMSE. Currently he is the President-Director of the Hydro Electric Company of the San Francisco River – CHESF. José Henrique Martins Neto Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department Federal Center of Technological Education – CEFET/MG José Henrique Martins Neto holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais. He holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais with a research project titled “Testing of a flat plate solar collector for domestic hot water”. José Henrique holds a Philosophy Doctor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a research project titled “Modeling and experimental validation of an internal melting ice storage tank.”. He holds a post doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto with a research project titled “Modeling and testing and of an encapsulated thermal storage tank for air conditioning. José Henrique worked as a maintenance engineer in the steel mill industry “Siderúrgica de Minas Gerais – Brazil”. As a Mechanical Engineer of the “JAM Engenharia de Ar Condicionado”, he worked in the installation of the system of air conditioning of the Shopping do Vale. From 1981 to 20014, José Henrique worked as Full Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and at the Energy Engineering Program of the CEFET-MG (Federal Center of Technological Education of Minas Gerais), working in the areas of solar energy, HVAC and energy efficiency. Continue as a collaborator professor teaching and advising graduate students. Since 2014, he is director of the energy engineering company named "Sistemas Energéticos JHMN", developing consulting and projects in the CSP, solar applications and energy processes. Odivaldo Jose Seraphim Professor at the Rural Engineering Department Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University of São Paulo- UNESP Odivaldo Jose Seraphim has graduated in Electric Engineering at the Educational Foundation of Bauru (1981) and holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in Energy in Agriculture from the Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University of São Paulo - UNESP (1992). He is professor with Livre Docente rank in “Rural Electrification” and currently assistant professor at the UNESP – Faculty of Agronomic Sciences – Campus of Botucatu. He has experience in the fields of Rural Electrification, with emphasis in Distributed Energy Generation and Alternative Energy Sources, working mainly on the following topics: rural conventional electrification; photovoltaic and wind energy; exploitation of small hydro-energetic resources; energy efficiency in agro-industrials activities and energy cogeneration in the sugar-alcoholic sector. He coordinates the project “CSP Studies: Educational Consortium for Integration and Sustainability in Agro-industry”, at the iNOPA - Innovation and New Partnerships (CAPES/DAAD/GIZ) with universities from Germany.
