Luiz Carlos Rezende e Santos
Luiz Carlos Rezende e Santos graduated from the
Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais ‐ PUC Minas
and obtained a postgraduate degree in criminal and
procedural law at the university Gama Filho.
He worked as a judge from April 1998 to 2009. In
September 2009, he began to work as advisor to the
Court of Justice on prison affairs and as coordinator of the
priorities of the National Strategy of Public Justice and
Security in Minas Gerais. He is a member of the
Monitoring and Controlling Process Group of the prison
system of Minas Gerais and Executive Coordinator of the
program Novos Rumos implemented by the Court of
Justice of Minas Gerais.
He is the Vice President of the Association of Judges of Minas Gerais – Amagis.
Since October 2013, he has been working as Advisor to the Minister Joaquin Barbosa at
the National Council of Justice in Brasilia.
