Full Professor at the UFV and Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG; member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the Support of Research of Minas Gerais - Fapemig; and of the National Commission of Science and Technology Institutes - INCT. He is the Deputy Secretary of Science, Technology, and Higher Education of Minas Gerais State; member of the Committee for External Evaluation of Embrapa; member of the Project Agribusiness Foresight Network - USP; coordinator of the Project Innovation for Agricultural Defense, and manager of the Project Technology Innovation Network of the Minas Gerais State. He was the Rector of the Federal University of Viçosa from 2000 to 2004. His wide professional experience goes from the field of Agronomy, Entomology, and Biological Control to Chemical Ecology. More recently, he has dedicated himself to the study and promotion of Innovation Systems.
