Vem aí a pergunta critica: quantos o fazem? THE ORGANIZATION TAAC is a non-profit, non-commercial organisation which aims at promoting contemporary artistic research. It is formed by young artists and curators operating in Turin, Italy since September 2008. The organisation was born with the objective to pursue the development and the valorisation of culture through the promotion of activities of production, exchange and cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, social activities, and of valorisation of local resources, both human and urban. The organisation's activities range from the production and the presentation of exhibitions and cultural events to the promotion of programmes of visual arts documentation and archives. THE SPACE TAAC sets itself as an experimental platform and as a lab for young artists, critics and curators. The organisation is based in Galleria Umberto I, in the hearth of Porta Palazzo neighbourhood in Turin. The space is divided in three parts: the window floor, which hosts the “project room” and lab, the lower ground floor, dedicated to the expositions, and the first floor, where the offices and the spaces dedicated to the archive and to the didactic activities are located. lower ground floor window floor T.A.A.C. - Torino Associazione Arte Contemporanea Galleria Umberto I 29 - Torino Tel: 3475396836 – 3485498512 CRIPTA747 CRIPTA 747 is the first Artist Run Space in Turin dedicated to the contemporary art scene with a particular focus on emerging artistic trends both in Italy and abroad. The project intends to be the leading figure in a non commercial and no-profit national circuit. The formula chosen is residency: the artist will create original and site-specific artworks, based on the experiences lived during their stay in Turin, but in any case intertwined with the artist's personal research path. The artist will build up their projects in constant interaction with the members of the organisation and those artists and curators involved in the project. At the moment the programme sees italian and foreign artists – with very different artistic backgrounds alternate in their performance/exposition. The biggest difference is the possibility to actively curate a project, and to undertake a development path for ourselves and for the artists involved in any given project. From this point of view CRIPTA 747 can be considered as a unique place in Turin. T.A.A.C. - Torino Associazione Arte Contemporanea Galleria Umberto I 29 - Torino Tel: 3475396836 – 3485498512 DIECI GIORNI PER UN'ARTE COLLETTIVA CRIPTA 747, an independent art space based in Galleria Umberto I in Turin will host the project “Dieci Giorni blabla” starting from April 2011. The project, jointly designed by the two portuguese artists Vasco Costa and Hugo Canoilas (who authored the Morro Project) and Cripta 747, will host up to 10 people coming from very diverse fields who aim at collaborating with an artistic experience that, through 10 days of workshops, labs and meetings, will lead to the setting up of a collective exhibition. The workshop is open to artists, musicians, performers, agriculturalists, philosophers, carpenters, cooks, etcetera (it is not necessary to have an artistic background). The workshop will aim to the making of a set of projects/experiments both inside the exhibition spaces of Cripta 747 and in public spaces throughout Turin. “Dieci giorni per un'arte collettiva” wishes to contribute to the valorisation and revitalisation of the human, social and cultural capital of the Porta Palazzo neighbourhood. Participation and exchange will be its central themes. “Dieci giorni per un'arte collettiva” is a challenge for the development of a special work and action. The communication among participants coming from different places and backgrounds will lead to the construction of a global communication system for the whole community. What decisively contributes to make sense of the very concept of community is the fact that every action (or game) is co-produced highlighting the relationship between those involved: the role of passive spectator does not exist o stop existing, in order to create the conditions for a direct participation of all people present and who give life to the various parts forming the whole. The project aims at building up a healthy involvement of the creative team in order to stimulate the coauthorship of a horizontal seminar, without any tutor. Our objective is to enrich the experience of all participants and to be generous and open-minded, adopting an approach which include the relation with those who live in Turin. We would like to gather a group of artists or potential artists who move towards the same direction, a ritualised action towards the creation of a sense of unity, of a collection of sensorial immersions and of their subsequent or obvious reflections. Our aim is to bring the magic and the ritual back in the field of art. The creation process and the important values reset and renew in us the idea of art as a freedom space and of open spaces, through the multiplicity, the identification of the other and the intersection of parallel realities. As far as Torino is concerned we would like to take into consideration interesting inputs that the city offers, with its melting pot of cultures and mystical phenomena, in order to develop a work which aims at a certain kind of “religiosity” (from Latin re-ligare, to reconnect, to reunite), with which we mean sense of community.
