IN THE MIDDLE…

Dear Middle School Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to a new school year! We hope that you and your family made the most of the Winter break,
and we look forward to welcoming your children back to school on Monday, August 4th. I’d like to take this
opportunity to share several changes to our Middle School teaching staff for this school year.
The following teachers will be moving from other sectors at OLM to join the Middle School staff:
Mr. Eduardo Ajuz, who taught 5th grade last year, joins us as the Middle School math teacher, taking over for
Mr. Cole, who has assumed the position of High School Supervisor.
Ms. Sandra Brandão will teach Science, substituting for Ms. Mendes during her maternity leave.
Ms. Elizabeth Barros will teach 8th Grade Portuguese.
We also welcome the following teachers who are new to OLM:
Ms. Isabel Auler will teach Brazilian History and Geography, replacing Mr. Luciano Viana, who has moved to
the high school faculty.
Ms. Maria Cláudia Oliveira will teach Middle School English.
Ms. Andréia Pinha will teach Portuguese for grades 6 and 7.
Finally, I invite you to come meet your child’s teachers at our Middle and High School Open House, which will
be held on Thursday, August 7th, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. This will be your best opportunity to meet teachers
and learn about the classes your child will be taking this year. Hope to see you here!

Prezados Pais e/ou Responsáveis,
Sejam bem-vindos ao novo ano letivo! Desejamos que os senhores e suas famílias tenham
aproveitado bem essas férias de julho e esperamos dar as boas-vindas a seus filhos nesta segunda-feira, dia 4
de agosto.
Gostaria de compartilhar algumas mudanças ocorridas no corpo docente do Middle School para este
ano.
Os seguintes professores serão remanejados de outros setores da própria OLM para compor o corpo
docente do Middle School:
Mr. Eduardo Ajuz, que foi professor do 5th grade no ano passado, será o novo professor de Matemática do
Middle School substituindo Mr. Cole que assumiu a posição de supervisor do High School.
Ms. Sandra Brandão lecionará Science, substituindo Ms. Mendes durante sua licença-maternidade.
Ms. Elizabeth Barros lecionará Português no 8th grade.
Nós também damos as boas-vindas aos seguintes professores recém-contratados:
Ms. Isabel Auler lecionará História e Geografia do Brasil no lugar de Mr. Viana que foi remanejado para o
corpo docente do High School.

Finalizando, eu os convido a se encontrarem com os professores de seus filhos na Middle and High
School Open House, que será realizada na quinta-feira, dia 7 de agosto, de 19h às 20h30h. Esta será a melhor
oportunidade para conhecer os professores e saber mais sobre as aulas que seus filhos terão neste ano.
