In the Post-War period, Japan supported the extension of the co-operative, mainly the production cooperatives
(Nokyo), as survival alternative of the rural producers. In spite of the Japanese Consumers Co-operative
Union (Seikyo) were constituted in 50’s; only around 1970, in searched for strengthen the food safety and the
environmental worries, the Seikatsu Club Consumers’ Co-operative Union, choose by cut short the chain,
based in direct distribution system, it formed the producer consumer co-partnership, called Teikei system.
This paper was starting with the collected secondary data and contacts with the Japanese reality, during the
period of 2001/2002, that the third author stayed in Japan; other secondary data were collected some data on
Japanese descendents (nikkeys) contribution in Brazilian agriculture. Through of an exploratory research was
studied this organizational form (Teikei System), where the idea of governance network is present in a way to
commercialize agricultural organic products, with strong mutual cooperation and trust among producers and
consumers. This organizational form supported in safe products, with the environmental issue (sustainability),
it realizing the fair trade and to preserve the human health. The main objective of this paper is propose as the
experience of the new Japanese organizational forms could contributed, in sustainability development
approach, to the rural nikkeys producers in Brazil, that constituted the major community of Japanese
descendents abroad Japan.
The results of this study appointed that the final question: the possibility of build a commitment as Teikei
system could be available in some cases in Brazilian agricultural nikkeys organizational form.
