Formação Profissional MA in ART, CRAFT AND DESIGN EDUCATION in Viana do Castelo-Portugal The MA in Art, Craft & Design Education programme provides opportunities for teachers, lecturers, other professionals working in a wide variety of educational contexts and those with interests and/or experience in the field to investigate and analyse the role of art, craft and design in education. By critically reflecting upon policy and professional practice and studying its location within a theoretical framework, students should arrive at a broader knowledge and deeper understanding of their field. The programme is unique in having a multicultural, international and cross-cultural focus and provides opportunities for students to explore a range of theoretical and practical approaches to the study of art, craft and design in education. Students can draw on the expertise of the University's Centre for Art Education and International Research by attending regular seminars in a series featuring many respected guest lecturers and speakers. Another key feature is the practical project that provides an opportunity for students to develop their art practice in an educational context. A thorough research training provides students with the skills and knowledge to undertake the dissertation and a foundation for those wishing to continue to MPhil/PhD study. The programme is offered at the University of Surrey Roehampton and in Portugal in collaboration with the Escola Superior de Educacao de Viana do Castelo since 1997. Applicants for the Portugal programme should contact Dr Anabela Moura on tel: 258 - 806200 or email: [email protected] and may also contact James Hall on (00) 44 -(0)20-8392-3272 or email [email protected] The modules studied are: .
