What is Image Gently?
• The image gently Campaign is an initiative of the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric
Imaging. The campaign goal is to change practice by increasing awareness of the opportunities to promote radiation protection in the imaging of children.
• The Alliance was created in 2007 by the four founding organizations: the Society for Pediatric Radiology, the American College of Radiology, the American Society for Radiologic
Technologists, and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine to address the
need for “child-sizing” radiation doses during CT scans.
• The Image Gently campaign has continued to grow and is now comprised of over 70
Alliance member organizations. Some of the international groups involved include: the
Asian Oceanic Society for Pediatric Radiology, ANZSPR, RANZCR, the Australian Institute
of Radiography, the European Society of Pediatric Radiology, for the complete list of organizations please visit www.imagegently.org
What information is on the website?
• The website contains information in several modalities: CT, Parent Education, Fluoroscopy,
Interventional Radiology, Dental Radiography, and Nuclear Medicine. In September 2012
a Digital Radiography section will be added.
• In each section of the website there are a wide variety of materials that have been designed to educate the Radiologist, Technologist, Physicist, and Parents. You will find educational modules, brochures that can be distributed to your patients, articles, and power
point presentations that can be downloaded to spread the Image Gently message.
What does it cost to join Image Gently?
• It is FREE to pledge to Image Gently! When you pledge you will be added to our email
list and will begin receiving the quarterly newsletter that highlights new developments
and newsworthy articles relevant to “child sizing” the dose for pediatric patients.

O que é a Image Gently?
• A campanha Image Gently é uma iniciativa da Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric

de 2012, foi adicionada a seção Radiografia Digital.
• Em cada seção do site, há uma grande variedade de materiais que foram projetados para
educar o Radiologista, o Tecnólogo, o Físico e os Pais. Você vai encontrar módulos educacionais, folhetos que podem ser distribuídos a seus pacientes, artigos e apresentações em
power point que podem ser baixadas para espalhar a mensagem da Image Gently.
