BTL 2015 POS TOUR TO ALENTEJO REGION Time to Be Happy – Wine Tourism Day 1 (27th February) 12h00 – City Tour – Évora (until 18h00) Évora is the inevitable reference point for anyone coming to the Alentejo inspired by the theme of Heritage. Classified by UNESCO as A World Heritage Site, Évora justly occupies an important place in any Cultural Tourism itinerary. Its architectural and artistic heritage is so omnipresent and impressive that this alone guides the steps of anyone who loves strolling around with no fixed direction: from the Roman to the Neoclassical, by way of the Gothic and various expressions of the Manueline, the Renaissance and the Baroque, all the epochs of history are documented with works that fully satisfy the eye and the soul. Referring only to what is essential, you need several hours to visit the Roman Temple, the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Igreja (church) de São Francisco and the Chapel of Bones, the Palace of King D. Manuel, the Ermida (chapel) de São Brás (St Blaize), the MiradorTerrace of the Casa (house) Cordovil, the Manueline Window of the Casa de Garcia da Resende, the Colégio do Espírito Santo, now part of Évora University, the Igreja da Misericórdia, Praça do Giraldo (the main square) and the Teatro Garcia de Resende. 13h00 – Lunch at Restaurant D. This ancient seat of human occupation was finally conquered from the Moors in the 13th century with the assistance of the Knights Templar, who were then charged with defending and repopulating it. The town grew gradually in the following century with the city walls and in the 17th century new fortifications were built here, making this one of the strongholds of the frontier. There are a myriad of reasons why this town that is a true open-air museum is one of the most-visited towns in the Alentejo. 12h00 – Visit to Adega CARMIM – wine and olive oil tasting 13h30 – Lunch with wine tasting at Herdade do Esporão 17h00 – Visit to the estate and wine tasting at Herdade do Sobroso 20h00 – Dinner and overnight at Herdade do Sobroso (for those who stay until Sunday) Day 3 (1st March) 10h00 – Departure to Lisbon www.visitalentejo.com ARPT - Turismo do Alentejo Café Alentejo Restaurante Rua Manuel Baptista Reis, 6 R/C Rua do Raimundo,5 7000-661 ÉVORA - Évora 7570-284 Grândola Tel:+351 269 498 680 T +351 266706296 Ana Vinagre: +351 963608120 Email: [email protected] [email protected] www.cafealentejo.com www.visitalentejo.pt www.facebook.com/VisitAlentejoOfficial CARMIM- Cooperativa Agrícola de Reguengos de Monsaraz Restaurante Dom Joaquim Rua Professor Mota Pinto Apartado 3 7200-999 Reguengos de Monsaraz Rua dos Penedos, 6 7000-537 ÉVORA - Évora T +351 266731105 | F +351 266731105 T +351 266508200 +351 913222661 | F +351 266508280 Email: [email protected] E-mail: [email protected] / [email protected] www.carmim.eu Rota dos Vinhos do Alentejo Praça Joaquim António de Aguiar, 20-21 7001-901 Évora T +351 266746498+351 266746609 | F +351 266746602 Herdade do Esporão Apartado 31 7200-999 Reguengos de Monsaraz T +351 266509280 | F +351 266519753 E-mail: [email protected] www.vinhosdoalentejo.pt E-mail: [email protected] www.esporao.com Vitória Stone Hotel Herdade do Sobroso Country House Rua Diana de Lis, 5 7005-413 ÉVORA - Évora T +351 266707174 | F +351 266700199 E-mail: [email protected] www.vitoriastonehotel.com Enoturismo Herdade do Esporão Herdade do Sobroso - Ap 61 - Pedrógão do Alentejo 7960-909 VIDIGUEIRA - Vidigueira T +351 284456116 +351 961732958 | F +351 284456412 E-mail: [email protected] www.herdadedosobroso.pt www.visitalentejo.com www.visitalentejo.com
