The expansion of airport facilities and of the supply fleets of BR
Aviation is the highlight of this edition. The Company is positioning itself
as an important ally in the development of the aviation market, making
efforts to be present in all the territory where there is a demand for its
products and services.
For this reason, BR is carrying out an expressive program of
works in various airports of the Country. The objective of the initiative
is to expand and modernize the Company’s facilities, offering to the
customers a better service infra-structure. In this edition, you will be
able to accompany the main enterprises in each region of the country.
Also see how BR has received from Infraero new concessions of
area at airports where demand for fuels will tend to increase during the
World Cup, in 2014, and in the Olympics in 2016.

The objective of the initiative is to expand the
service network and modernizing the facilities of
the Company, offering its customers a larger and
improved infra-structure. Covering the construction
of Aircraft Refueling Depots (PAA´s) and the renewal
of the fleet of Aircraft Supply Units (UAA´s), BR is
getting ready to meet the new demands of the
aviation market.
Infraero
A iniciativa visa a ampliar a rede de atendimento e
modernizar as instalações da Companhia, oferecendo aos clientes uma maior e melhor infraestrutura.
Englobando a construção de Parques de Abastecimento de Aeronaves (PAA´s) e a renovação da frota
de Unidades Abastecedoras de Aeronaves (UAA´s),
a BR se põe a postos para atender às novas demandas do mercado de aviação.
De acordo com Mauro Bruno Bonotto, titular da Gerência de Operações e Padrões de Aviação (GOPA)
da BR, além das obras, prevê-se a aquisição de 177
unidades abastecedoras de aeronaves até 2014, que
serão distribuídas para os 103 aeroportos da rede BR
Aviation. “As novas unidades abastecedoras de aeronaves garantem o aumento do número de operações
simultâneas da nossa rede, contemplam soluções de
eficiência energética e de redução na emissão dos
poluentes, de ergonomia e conforto para o operador,
como regulagens do assento, direção hidráulica, vidros elétricos, suporte basculante para escada, dentre outros”, afirma o gerente.

Ainda para este ano é previsto um investimento
total de R$ 67 milhões nas obras aeroportuárias. Os
projetos estão distribuídos em aeroportos de todas
as regiões do país, com destaque para as cidades-sede da Copa do Mundo de Futebol e, também,
para as regiões com demanda em franco crescimento, os novos destinos da aviação comercial.
“São investimentos que irão refletir na ampliação da capacidade de atendimento da Companhia
e, consequentemente, no aumento de vendas e de
operações de abastecimento. Não podemos deixar
de destacar o compromisso de nossa empresa com

According to Mauro Bruno Bonotto, head of
Management of Operations and Aviation Standards
(GOPA) of BR, besides the works, the acquisition
of 177 Aircraft Supply Units is scheduled by 2014,
which will be distributed to the 103 airports of the
BR Aviation network. “The new aircraft supply units
ensure the increase in the number of simultaneous
operations of our network, include energy efficient
solutions and a reduction in the emission of pollutants,
ergonomics and comfort for the operator, such as seat
adjustments, hydraulic steering, electric windows, a
swivel-mounted ladder, among other things”, states
the manager.
A total investment of R$ 67 million in airport
works is programmed for this year. The projects
are distributed throughout airports of all the regions
of the country, especially for the host cities of the
Football World Cup and, also, for the regions with
a rapidly growing demand, the new destinations of
commercial aviation.
“They are investments that will reflect on the
expansion of the capacity to serve of the Company
and, consequently, on the increase of sales and
supply operations. We cannot fail to mention the
commitment of our company to the development

Outro benefício decorrente dos investimentos
será a ampliação da segurança operacional nas
instalações, contribuindo para que os serviços de
abastecimento ocorram dentro dos prazos previstos,
ampliando a capacidade de atendimento.

No aeroporto do Galeão, no Rio de Janeiro, cidade da partida final da Copa do Mundo, a BR Aviation renovou sua frota de Unidades Abastecedoras
de Aeronaves (UAA´s). Já estão em operação os
novos caminhões-tanque abastecedores de 20 m³.

Another benefit resulting from the investments
will be the expansion of the operational safety at the
facilities, contributing so that the supply services
occur within the expected time frames, increasing
the capacity of service.
Galeão
At the Galeão airport, in Rio de Janeiro, city of
the final game of the World Cup, BR Aviation has
renewed its fleet of Aircraft Supply Units (UAA´s). The
new 20 m³ supply tankers are already in operation.
Em 2012, já havia sido realizada a revitalização dos
equipamentos do parque de tancagem, com a pintura dos tanques e de parte das tubulações.
De acordo com a Infraero, o terminal de passageiros 2 terá 179.369 m² em 2014, ampliando sua
capacidade para receber 43,2 milhões de passageiros por ano. A previsão é de que a demanda também evolua: de 14,9 milhões, em 2011, para 20,2
milhões de passageiros/ano em 2014.
Importantes pólos de atendimento da BR também estão recebendo investimentos do Governo Federal para adequação de seu sistema aeroportuário
às demandas futuras. Apenas no Rio de Janeiro, os
investimentos da Infraero (PAC 2), no Aeroporto Internacional Tom Jobim, somarão, até 2014, aproximadamente R$ 440 milhões.
A Copa do Mundo e os
aeroportos estratégicos
Em Guarulhos (SP), opera-se em pool com as congêneres. Após ter garantido com a GRU Airport, nova
administradora do aeroporto, a permanência pelos
próximos 20 anos, está em construção um tanque
com capacidade de 12.500 m³, que representará um
aumento de 37% da capacidade de armazenagem.
Além disso, há o lançamento de 3 mil metros de
linha de tubulações para atendimento ao novo terminal em construção – o TPS 3 – dentre muitas outras
melhorias. A frota de unidades abastecedoras de
aeronaves da BR no Aeroporto de Guarulhos (SP) foi
ampliada e totalmente renovada. Hoje, são 18 veículos servidores de hidrante e 10 caminhões-tanque
abastecedores, de 20 m³ e de 13 m³.

The renewal of the equipment of the tank storage
depot has already been carried out in 2012, with the
painting of the tanks and part of the pipework.
According to Infraero, passenger terminal 2 will
have 179,369 m² in 2014, increasing its capacity
to receive 43.2 million passengers per year. The
forecast is that the demand will also evolve: from
14.9 million, in 2011, to 20.2 million passengers/
year in 2014.
Important service centers of BR are also receiving
investments from the Federal Government for
adaptation of its airport system to future demands.
In Rio de Janeiro alone, the investments of Infraero
(PAC 2), in the Tom Jobim International Airport, will
add up to, approximately, R$ 440 million by 2014.
The World Cup and the strategic airports
In Guarulhos (SP), a pool is being operated with
the affiliates. As the new administrator of the GRU
Airport has a guaranteed concession for the next 20
years, a tank is under construction with a capacity of
12,500 m³, which will represent an increase of 37%
in storage capacity.
Besides this, there is the laying of a 3 thousandmeter pipeline to serve the new terminal under
construction – TPS 3 – among the many other
improvements. The fleet of Aircraft Supply Units of
BR at Guarulhos Airport (SP) has been expanded
and completely renewed. Today, there are 18 hydrant
servicer vehicles and 10 supply tankers, of 20 m³
and 13 m³.

No Aeroporto de Confins, em Belo Horizonte
(MG), haverá grandes intervenções no Parque de
Abastecimento de Aeronaves (PAA), também em
sistema de pool com congêneres. Dois novos tanques de 2.000 m³, ampliação do pátio de manobras
dos caminhões, novas lajes de descarga e carregamento e novo sistema de bombeamento garantirão
a eficiência da rede de hidrantes que está sendo
ampliada para atender ao futuro terminal de passageiros 2, além das obras do novo pátio de cargas e
das posições remotas.
Em Porto Alegre, o novo Parque de Abastecimento de Aeronaves será inaugurado até dezembro de 2013, e tem capacidade de armazenagem
de 2.800 m³, orçado em R$ 23 milhões.
Modernização da frota de abastecimento
Já para Salvador (BA), acompanhando a necessidade da demanda turística da capital baiana, foi
projetado um aumento da demanda por combustíveis
do Aeroporto Internacional Luís Eduardo Magalhães
na ordem de 30% para o período da Copa do Mundo
de Futebol. Em função disso, a BR instalou o terceiro

Two new 2,000 m³ tanks, expansion of the truck
maneuver patio, a new unloading and loading area
and a new pumping system will ensure the efficiency
of the network of hydrants which is being expanded to
serve future passenger terminal 2, besides the works
on the new cargo patio and of the remote positions.
In Porto Alegre, the new Aircraft Supply Depot
will be inaugurated by December of 2013, and it
has a storage capacity of 2,800 m³, budgeted at

Modernization of the supply fleet
Then for Salvador (BA), to keep up with the
requirements of the tourist trade in the capital of
Bahia, an increase in the demand for fuels of the Luís
Eduardo Magalhães International Airport is expected

1,000 m³, which has increased the storage capacity
and operation of the unit by 50%.

de armazenagem e operação da unidade em 50%.
Haverá novidades também em Fortaleza e Cuiabá. A tancagem de querosene de aviação da BR
está sendo duplicada no aeroporto da capital cearense. Entre as quais estão a modernização da frota,
com disponibilização de dois novos caminhões-tanque abastecedores.
Fronteiras agrícolas
A região Centro-Oeste, impulsionada pelas novas fronteiras agrícolas e pelo desenvolvimento da
agroindústria, é responsável pelas maiores taxas
de crescimento econômico do país. Numa área de
11.342 m², no Aeroporto de Cuiabá (MT), será construído um novo parque de abastecimento de aeronaves em pool entre a Petrobras Distribuidora e uma
empresa congênere. De acordo com Bonotto, a instalação servirá de base de distribuição para outras
importantes cidades da região, como Sinop.
Fortaleza and Cuiabá will also receive

Agricultural frontiers
The Central-West region, driven by the new
agricultural frontiers and for the development of the
agricultural industry, is responsible for the highest
rates of economic growth of the country. In an area
of 11,342 m², at Cuiabá Airport (MT), a new aircraft
supply depot will be constructed in a pool between
Petrobras Distribuidora and an affiliated company.
According to Bonotto, the facility will serve as a
distribution base for other important cities of the
region, such as Sinop.

O processo de interiorização

desenvolvimento econômico,
e as novas fronteiras do
crescimento econômico são
fenômenos importantes.
Belém está recebendo obras de ampliação da
tancagem, já na reta final. As obras empreendidas
pela BR possibilitarão uma melhor operacionalidade da unidade e contribuirão para garantir maior
qualidade dos produtos, assim como o suprimento
de JET A-1.
No Planalto Central
O Aeroporto de Brasília também está sob nova
administração. A Inframérica, empresa que irá administrar o aeroporto da capital federal pelos próximos
25 anos, tem uma extensa agenda de investimentos.
Para fazer face a esse período de vigência do contrato recém-assinado pela BR e congêneres com a
nova administradora, o pool de combustíveis passará por grandes intervenções. Destacam-se a ampliação das instalações do parque, em fase de projeto,
e a extensão da rede de hidrantes, já iniciada, adequando-a ao novo leiaute do aeroporto e, também,
às novas posições de estacionamento de aviões, em
investimento total da ordem de R$ 35 milhões.
A pujança do interior
Não só com os aeroportos da Copa do Mundo e
das capitais se preocupa a BR Aviation. O processo
de interiorização da aviação, na rota do desenvolvimento econômico, e as novas fronteiras do crescimento econômico são fenômenos importantes. Inú-

In the Central Highlands
Brasília airport is also under new administration.
Inframérica, the company that will administer
the airport of the federal capital for the next 25
years, has an extensive agenda of investments. To
cope with this period of validity of the agreement
recently-signed by BR and affiliates with the new
administrator, the fuel pool will undergo significant
interventions. Outstanding is the expansion of the
facilities of the depot, in the design phase, and the
extension of the hydrant network, already initiated,
adapting it to the new layout of the airport and, also,
to the new apron of the aircraft, a total investment to
the order of R$ 35 million.
The force of the interior
Not only is BR Aviation concerned with the
airports of the World Cup and of the capitals. The
process of bringing aviation to the interior of the
country, on the road to economic development, and
the new frontiers of economic growth are important
phenomena. Innumerable airports of cities of the
interior are the object of prospecting or already have
works underway for the construction of new supply
depots. Araçatuba and Presidente Prudente, in São

meros aeroportos de cidades do interior estão sendo
objeto de prospecção ou já têm obras em andamento para a construção de novos parques de abastecimento. Araçatuba e Presidente Prudente, em São
Paulo; Araguaína, no Tocantins; Juiz de Fora (aeroporto da Zona da Mata), em Minas Gerais; Juazeiro
do Norte, no Ceará; Santa Maria, no Rio Grande do
Sul; e Macapá, capital do Amapá, são algumas das
cidades contempladas.
Dentre as cidades com obras de construção de
parques já iniciadas, destaca-se Macapá, capital do
estado do Amapá, atendendo aos anseios dos clientes da aviação geral e da população em garantir o
suprimento de combustível no aeroporto da capital.
Também Araguaína representa um ponto estratégico
para a BR, já que está localizada no triângulo formado pelo sudeste do Pará, sul do Maranhão e norte
do Tocantins, áreas de intensa produção agrícola. ■
